Sweet Friend & Crazy Family

I received this sweet sweet card in the mail from Diane. I loved getting your sweet note.

The card is gorgeous! I met Diane and her best friend, Kim through my blog. We have become very good friends even though we have not ever met in person. They always sent Granny lots of goodies. She loved it. This card made my day and came right when I needed it. Thank you Diane!

Remember this picture while I was at Myrtle Beach?

Now my hair is fixed a little better!

Remember my daughter Trouble? She was nicknamed that when she was 2 years old.

Remember Sweet Teen's picture? She is Trouble's daughter, my granddaughter.

And of course Angel wanted to look like Gran too!
She is "Trouble's" daughter too and my granddaughter.
Remember Brother even got in on this?
He is "Trouble's" son and my grandson.
Is he cute or what?

Well I went to visit my baby daughter "May May" and I got her in on the fun!

And now "Little D" wants to look like Gran!

He is "May May's" baby and my youngest grandson. Isn't he a doll?

Let's see. Who is missing? My daughter "Big Sis!"

She will be added next. For some reason they all thought this was hilarious! I guess I am known for my blue jean jacket and glasses. They all think it is funny because I never know if I am going to be hot or cold so I am always prepared.

Sweet Teen Won!

Sweet Teen won her first give away over at Marydon's blog!

When she opened the box she immediately saw the quilting magazines!

She could not look at all the stuff because she was so excited about the magazines.

She kept showing me quilts and she got so excited. I do believe that it is in her blood.

Oh Gran.....look at this!

And look at this! She looked at each one.

Then she organized them in stacks.

She loved them all but she did have her favorites.

She was already telling me plans that she has for all of these goodies.

She recognized the hexagons! We worked on some not too long ago.

She looked at each little square and she talked about making a postage stamp quilt.

It thrilled me to see her so happy about all of this. I will be showing what all she makes with all of these goodies. There was even some vintage soak wash in this package. There was a card with some breakfast tea for me! The day I took this box over to her house, Sweet Teen was organizing her room. When I got there she had most of her sewing area all organized. Once she opened this box she could not wait to get upstairs and add all this to her stash. Sweet Teen says thank you! I say thank you!

We stayed at the Wyndham at Ocean Blvd at North Myrtle Beach.

Our condo was on the 1st floor but as you can see the parking deck makes the 1st floor like it is te 3rd floor. We weren't sure we would like being down so low but we loved it. We were on the same levels as 2 of the outside pools so we didn't have to get on an elevator to go to a different level.

There are actually 2 inside pools. The weather was wonderful so we didn't have to go in there but they were beautiful.
Here is our master bedroom. It was gorgeous.
I wish I had a picture of the master bath. It was so elegant.
It had a big separate shower along with a whirlpool tub, 2 separate vanities, and a separate area for privacy. The tile was Black and the walls were a Apple green. Gorgeous.

This is the dining area. Everything was beachy and contemporary.
The security was wonderful here. We felt very safe.

This shows the living area and the kitchen. This place was so nice.
The condo had everything we needed except for food. We were able to bring all of our clothes home clean because our condo had a washer and dryer in it. I loved that.

They have 3 outside pools, 2 inside pools, 2 lazy rivers, 6 hot tubs, a computer lab, recreation & game room with everything you would ever need. They had pool tables, foos ball, ping pong, checker boards, play stations, Wii, etc. It was unreal. There is even a pool bar. We ate lunch there one day. It was great. I would highly recommend this condo to anyone. I am very picky on where I stay and I loved this one! We had a great time. The only thing missing were the rest of our family that didn't get to join us this year. I LOVE home, especially my bed, but it was so nice to get away and do nothing except what we wanted to do.

I Just Can't Help Myself

Family photos at the beach once a year is a major ordeal with our family. It is usually one adult that is hungry and wanting to leave and not take pictures. Can you tell who is not happy in this photo? Right as I said SMILE everyone was ready except for Brother. He was not a happy camper. We did get some good pictures but I could not help but show you this one first.

More People watching....I can't help myself.

Poor Mommy was just trying to get a tan but baby had other plans.

I don't have a clue what he was doing.

These wives are coming to check and see what their mature husbands are doing down in this water.

While I was people watching......I looked over and saw these women drinking TAB. Do you remember Tab? I didn't even know they still made it.

These 2 Grandmas were so protective while they had the 3 grands out in the ocean.

They were scared to death and would not let the little boys go far away from them.

Then the Mom and dad came and took the boys way out in the ocean. As you can see these 2 Grands don't know what to think.

This is my Grand, "Angel". There is a little story about her and this donkey.

When she was about 3 years old we came to this Mexican Restaurant. It was her birthday. They told her that she had to ride a donkey and she went into hysterics. It was so funny and a good memory. We made her go and stand beside the donkey that she doesn't even remember for this picture. We still laugh about this memory.

Here is another story about "Angel". When she was around 3 years old we also visited this restaurant. This guy waited on us way back then. She is 10 now. Anyway, tonight he was our waiter. We reminded him of the story about her. His name is "Smoke."
He is very loud spoken. Anyway when she was very small he asked her if she wanted some ice cream and she started crying like you would not believe. It scared her to death. She has always heard about these stories but now she got to revisit them. We told Smoke about it and I asked him if I could get a picture with her. We thought he would just stand beside her but he pulled up a chair and made her stand in it and then he squeezed her so tight. It was so cute. She was real embarrassed but didn't cry this time!

Before when I was young and looked like her, and after when I am older and so tired. Sweet Teen thought this was so funny. I thought it was a cute idea. They laugh at me all the time for wearing a jacket when they are hot! That is just the way it is when you are an older more mature woman instead of a teenager that knows everything! lol Can you tell I love my grands? I do.

People Watching

People watching......one of my favorite pass times when I am out at the beach.

These 2 must not be married! They went round and round the lazy river holding each others feet and giving each other goo goo eyes!

I took these pictures off of my balcony. I watched as people loaded up all their belongings and headed to their rooms.

I watched this poor man take a huge tent down and put it in that container he is dragging. Then he loaded all these other things on his back and off he went.

Then here comes his poor wife about 50 yards behind him. She had to gather up all of their trash and clean up and then drag these ice chest and bags up through the sand to get back to the condo. I was tired just watching them. I wondered if it was really worth it.

We were amazed watching this lady. She never got up the whole time that we were at the beach. There were children bringing her shovels and buckets full of sand (we are assuming) and she was sifting through it all. It took her forever to look through one little scoop. We finally assumed she was looking for gold! lol

Now these 2 girls had the right idea. Instead of a boyfriend they had a little rubber doll!

Funny, huh?

These 2 kids were having fun! I had to stop them and ask if I could take a picture of their Elmo shirts. My grands got a kick out of them.

I looked to my right and there was this beautiful girl that had glasses on her face but look up on her head!! 2 more pair! Oh...................this is my daughter "Trouble"! (aka Shannon)
This is what you do when you are a Mommy. You hold every ones stuff.

We were up at the lazy river and this guy was beside me and never woke up. If you notice in his left hand is his billfold. He was not letting it go! Every so often his head would fall to the side but honestly I never saw his eyes open.

Oh and look at this man! Love the straw hat! Wonder why men like to sleep so much?

Oh guess what? This is my sweet honey! lol See I people watch my own family and am sure others do too.

This woman was also having her a good nap.

She woke up when a wave hit her chair and tipped her over.

This guy would walk back and forth in front of us with earphones in his ears holding his ipod even while he was in the ocean.

I promise you that this is not the lady that got stuck in the inter tube yesterday. But "Trouble" (my daughter) came running in the condo and said Mom you have got to come and see this. This lady was at the lazy river at the condos next to us. She didn't have an inter tube on like the lazy river provides. This is a little bitty blow up kids ring. She was using it as an arm rest most of the time. It was just funny after what we saw yesterday. Another one of those things that you would just have to see yourself.
