I haven't worked at a secular job since last July (I work for the church but can plan my hours as I choose.I was always able to be at home while my children were young and am now enjoying being able to spend more time at home again and be around when my grandchildren come and visit. That scripture speaks so much to us as women and it is good to reflect on it. I have never worked outside the home after my boys were born and yet I was always busy doing something or other and I loved being able to be home for them:-) A lot of people would ask me "aren't you bored?"...nope, never! As you say, a house is just a house but a home is what you make of it and it does indeed take a lot of hard work to make it so. xoxoCarole Buranthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05497329055251626140noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8881189520578385241.post-48169779851001504102009-03-13T09:22:00.000-04:002009-03-13T09:22:00.000-04:00HI Valerie im new to your space and hey its absolu...HI Valerie im new to your space and hey its absolutely great what you do........i think thats what it really amounts to what makes you happy.........If livingat home and tending to your family makes you happy great.........honestly a pay check might get you new clothes and fancy kitchen wear.....but hey i don think the kids ever remember their mothers fancy clothes or her fancy kitchen gadgets chances are theyll remember her warm hugs and her wet kisses and her wonderful food and more than anything her dependability..........its wonderful to come home to a mother.........luckysanjanahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14418038607653110554noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8881189520578385241.post-63233266716243383262009-03-13T09:06:00.000-04:002009-03-13T09:06:00.000-04:00What a beautiful post, Valerie! For me the balancing act was difficult, tiring, and when I did do both, my homemaking became more of a chore as I was often tired from the day job. I wouldn't go back to doing both now unless I had no choice. I think it is wonderful when a mom can stay home to care for her family as I believe children are the most precious part of life. Not all moms have the choice for the economic reasons and they have to do the best they can, and I understand...been there & done that. And, I just love BEING at home, it's my most favorite place in the world and I don't have a need to go anywhere at all to find happiness, for it's right here.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8881189520578385241.post-61720000512578724762009-03-13T07:50:00.000-04:002009-03-13T07:50:00.000-04:00People can live in a house or they can live in a h...People can live in a house or they can live in a home...you have chosen "HOME"..One with love in many forms in each nook, cranny and corner.

Val, keep up the great work..you ar earning jewels for that crown in heaven.

Have a Godly blessed weekend.Ameliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10585878295754436629noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8881189520578385241.post-59592047023637164932009-03-13T07:01:00.000-04:002009-03-13T07:01:00.000-04:00Very nice post! Sometimes I get down and tired of constantly doing and then the light goes on in my head and I remember all of the things my Mom did while she was alive and I can only pray that my children will have fond memories of all the things I do. I was a stay at home for many years and would be now if we could financially make it work. If someone puts you down because of it, it is they who have an issue not you.
