Heart Connected

There is nothing like having lunch with my "sweet best friend," Vicki for my birthday. We never get to see each other much anymore. Life gets in the way. When our children were small, we talked everyday. We actually would talk so much on the phone that before we knew it the day would be gone and it would be time for our husbands to be home. I am almost embarrassed to tell that but it is the truth. I always thought that as we got older & our children were grown that we would get to spend more time together but it isn't that way. We do go to Helen, Ga. the first week in May every year together and we have a great time. We have been best friends for 30 years and I wouldn't take back a minute of it. She gave me the birthday card above and it tells it all-"Our story." This woman never ceases to amaze me. She does it all. She taught me to crochet years ago. She taught me how to make cornbread. She works 2 jobs, takes care of her family & home. She even has game night at her house once a month with all of her children and grandchildren & they stay up most of the night playing games! I could go on & on about her. I have always told my children that if you are ever blessed to find a friendship like I have with Vicki...........hang on to it for dear life & cherish & nourish your friendship. I know that if anything ever happened to me that Vicki would be there for my children & grandchildren. I have no doubts about that. My "sweet daughter," Shannon told me today that outside of our family that Vicki is the best woman she knows. I couldn't say it any better. I am so thankful that I am blessed with her as my "life friend." We are "heart-connected" forever. She is the best of the best!

I am so glad you have Vicki, I have a similar friendship with a friend I have known for 27 years, Sandy. Though we don't live close we are there for each other through all life's ups and downs. True friends are such a blessing.
