Daddy's Quilts & His New Sewing Cabinet

Daddy has a very small house and he was trying to find a place to store all
of the quilts he is making.  Looks like he found the perfect place.
All of these quilts are for sale along with the ones in the sidebar marked "Daddy's Quilts".
Each quilt is 60.00 plus shipping.

Daddy had to do some rearranging in his house
to make room for his new sewing cabinet that he bought.
He is even moving pictures around.
This frame is all of Granny.  I made that for him when she left us.
Right behind that little lamp is the framed poem  "Granny's Perfect Quilts" that was written by
Marlene about the quilt she purchased from Granny.  If you haven't read it, go to my sidebar and look for it.  I LOVE it.

Look at Daddy's new sewing cabinet!
He is so proud of it!

He opened it all up for me to show me how it works.
This is definitely a space saver.
See his caps up on top?
My Dad was in the Navy and has been looking for Navy hats.
He found 2. One of them says Navy Veteran on it.
He loves them.  When I was a baby he was in the Navy.
Thanks Dad for your service.

He is so very proud of it!
He hasn't put his machine in it yet but
he is working on it.
Then it's back to sewing quilts for Daddy!
Just let me know if you want to purchase one of Daddy's quilts.
Sewing has made him so happy.
This is truly a gift from Granny and the Lord.

Quilt #6
Just let me know if you are interested in one of these quilts.
There are many more where these came from.
I just thought I would show a few at a time.

Daddy loves to go to yard sales and thrift stores.
Look what he found at a yard sale for me!

And look at this very very old quilt that he found for 1.00!!!!
It needs some work but Daddy loves a challenge.

Today I am thankful........that Daddy found the love of Granny's quilts so much that he learned to make them.

I am a member over at Pins & Needles and I posted about Vicki's chicken scratch!
Make sure and visit here.

I have been having issues with my TMJ and Vicki (bff) went out of her way to bring me
a bowl of potato soup and the chicken scratch instruction book that
she copied just for me! Wasn't that sweet?
There is nothing like a "real" best friend!
I am so blessed.

Daddy's Quilts

Go Daddy Go!!!
Can you believe how many quilts my Dad has made?

I had a request for an orange quilt
from Daddys quilts, so I wanted to show this one close up.
Daddy says it is more yellow and I think maybe more gold.

This reminds me so much of the way
 Granny stacked her quilts.
He is Granny's son. That is for sure.

He even rolls his quilts just like she did.
I think he might use more than one pin though.

He was showing me this one and telling me about the border
and then he said that it would be finished tonight.
He is trying to do 5 a week.

This is his stash.
Granny had hers in a basket behind her bedroom door
and Daddy's is stacked up in a chair in his kitchen.

This box of fabric was sent to Dad
by a very good friend of mine from my church.
I thought that was so sweet.  I think Daddy has added some of his fabric in the box too. He loved it.

This picture was took a few days ago.
The pictures above were from today.
He is so proud of his quilts.

He was pulling out stuff showing me all the colors
and how he was going to match them up.

Daddy cuts with scissors and cuts his squares 6 inches.
My Mom gave him a rotary cutter but he prefers to
cut with scissors. He is fast too.

All Daddy's quilts are for sale.
I bring a few at a time to my house to take pictures.

All of his quilts are full size quilts.
He sells them for 60.00 plus shipping.

I love this quilt.
Daddy doesn't do this to make money.
He does it because he loves it.

Snippets From My Heart
In my wildest dreams I would never ever thought that my Daddy
would be quilting............ever!!!  He became interested in Granny's quilting
just a few months before she went home to be with the Lord.
Everytime he made one and showed Granny she would be so proud.
Quilting has given my Daddy happiness and peace.
He is really doing a good job too.  He has always been a very hard worker and now that he
is older this keeps his hands busy.  He says that he cannot sit and do nothing.
If you are interested in buying one of Daddy's quilts, just let me know which one.
When you buy a quilt from him it just enables him to make another one.

Today I am thankful for..............happiness and peace.

Daddy's Quilts

What does this remind you "Granny Fans" of?
Remember when I started selling Granny's quilts
she had several stacks like this.
This is one of Daddy's stacks.

He is making quilts as fast as Granny was and he is enjoying it so much!

This quilt looks pink but it is really more of a pinkish red to me!
This is my favorite one so far!

He reminds me so much of Granny.
When I go over to his house he doesn't
stop sewing until he finishes a row.

Then he starts showing me his stash!
Isn't this wonderful?

Granny's PERFECT Quilt

It is PERFECT. Perfectly PERFECT. Oh I don't mean perfect stitches, or perfect seams, or perfectly square. It is PERFECT for snuggling under on a rainy, dreary day. It is PERFECT for wrapping up a grandchild who is spending the night. It is PERFECT for making a house when draped over a chair & an end table. It is PERFECT for winding around and around a doll. It is PERFECT for covering up in the car when the air conditioning is on full blast. It is PERFECT for laying on the carpet and putting a baby down for his nap. God has touched Granny's heart and her hands, and her life. He has made her an artist. He has given her the gift of PERFECT quilts.

This was written about Granny's quilts by Marlene in Oct. of 2009 when she purchased one for herself.  I will never forget when I read this.  It said it all.  It even means more to me now that Granny is gone to be with the Lord.  If you would like to read the original post that she wrote when she bought her "Granny" quilt go Here.  I think this same thing can be written about my Daddy's quilts.  He is following in his Mothers footsteps and I know that she is so proud of him.
 I know I am.
So now I guess we can say.......

"Daddy's Perfect Quilts"
                              Thank you Marlene!

Don't forget to visit Sweet Teen's blog! You will make her day!

Today I am thankful for..........My Daddy!
