Having Fun With The Honeymooners!

Remember the honeymooners?
They are so happy and are perfect for one another.
We could not be more proud of them.

This little girl of mine is an example that prayers do get answered.
She had to go through some rough times before finding true happiness.
Lane & Maranda remind me so much of me & my sweet hubby.
Happy & content & in love.

SIL & FIL have a lot in common. They both love hunting.
My sweet hubby & Lane (SIL) are on some hunting land together so about 2 weeks ago we loaded up and went down to check it out.

We had so much fun. Lane has a 4 wheeler and we have our gator so off we went. It was a beautiful day and we saw lots of deer and turkey signs.

The gator did great except in narrow places so guess what hubby wants now???
Yep, a 4 wheeler! He had one but sold it and just hasn't bought one yet but he does need one.
I loved my seat. I tried sitting in the front but the gator is so wide I kept getting hit by branches so I hopped in the back and it was perfect.
These 2 are just alike. I love it. They were good friends before Maranda & Lane got married.
I am so proud to say that I have 3 great Son In Laws! They are all good Christian men.
What more can we ask?

We had so much fun that day together. We are looking forward to many more fun times like these with the honeymooners!

SNIPPETS FROM MY HEART

Sometimes we have to go through things to get where we are going. The Lord is showing me so much. I have a lot to learn on this journey but I am so excited everyday just to get up and see what the Lord has for me. I am amazed that from the "trial" that I am walking through I am learning to look at myself instead of the trial. When Granny left us, it was like everything paused in my life. Who would have thought that the Lord would lead me to a book about Proverbs 31? We have been married 31 years and had a great marriage. But as I have started reading "The Excellent Wife" I am seeing what the Lord is teaching me. It all starts with MY relationship with the Lord and it all starts with "ME". In this book it lists 20 traits that are shown in Proverbs 31. The goal in our lives is to be like Christ. I always knew that, but I am seeing more and more how I can move up. Our relationship with HIM is the number one most important thing in our lives. Since I did this post on the "honeymooners".......I wish for them and all of my children blessed marriages, but most of all I pray for them to all have that one on one relationship with our Lord.

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
Proverbs 31:10

Granny
I have to tell you all that I am amazed everyday at Granny's guestbook. She had such a crowd at the funeral home, that the line was out to the parking lot but on the guestbook it is mostly you bloggers and Granny Fans! I cannot thank you all enough. Granny reached the world as a witness for her Lord just through her simple life and she didn't even have a clue the impact she has had on all of us. Granny IS a Proverbs 31 woman. If you haven't signed or read the guestbook lately you can go here. Her name is Beulah Gribble. This guestbook means the world to me. I will treasure it always.

Wedding Day

These pictures are unprofessional and were took by me before the wedding and you can tell that by the stage curtain being open.
It was a beautiful day. I will have much better pictures later on but I wanted to share this special day with you.
Are they not just a gorgeous couple?
This is an answered prayer.
My Mom and my sister Karen made the wedding favors for us.
They are beautiful.
Thank you both!
This is the coffee bar. It was wonderful.
Everyone loved it.

This is our beautiful daughter on this happy day.
My very close friend Rachelle planned this whole wedding.
She did the winter wonderland theme.
It was awesome.
This is the photographer taking pictures with me right behind her snapping my little camera.
I can't wait to see the professional pictures and the DVD of the wedding.
Do you notice the arbor? That is what I was making out of the grapevines!
I have to give credit to Rachelle (one of my best friends). She decorated it and she had the vision for the whole wedding. She even had mistletoe hanging in the doorways. I am amazed at what all she did. Not only did she do a lot but she had a lot to deal with this week. Her oldest son broke his leg and then a few days later her sweet mother had a wreck and Rachelles younger son was with her. Thank the Lord they are ok. Her mother came to the wedding even though she was very sore. She also made some of the food for the wedding even after the wreck. Rachelle is so blessed with her family and we are so blessed to be a part of that family. If you ever need a wedding planner she is the best! She gave of herself and didn't ask for a thing in return. This is the kind of person she is. I am so blessed to call her my friend.
This is our daughter and we are so proud of her.

This is the wedding party goofing off & having fun!
Everything went so smooth today. I know it was your prayers.
It was actually the prettiest wedding I have ever seen but of course I am the Mom!

This is the wedding cake. It is strawberry on the inside with white chocolate curls.
It was heavenly. We received a lot of compliments on this cake. It was made by Beth. She has a business called "The Book Nook" here in Dalton. If you are ever here you will have to go and eat there. It is unreal. Beth made both of our cakes. She is Rachelle's (wedding planner, friend & sister to me) best friend.
Regina, another one of my best friends served the cakes for us. She did so much more than I could list. Another one of my best friends is Joan. There are not words to tell you how I feel about Joan. I can tell you the type of person she is. She just donated a kidney to a dear friend. This is the kind of person she is. These ladies stayed up most the night before helping Rachelle so we could go home and rest. Then there is another Best friend. It is Reba. There is just something between us that if I haven't thought of it, she does. She doesn't wait, she just does it. She took care of so many things before, during, and after the wedding. Tiffany, her daughter did all my running for me. If I forgot something, she took care of it. LeAnda, another one of Rebas daughters made sure that I had a plate at the wedding with punch. Rachelle is Lanes neice but we go back a long way. When I was sick in the hospital about 8 years ago, Rachelle slept on the floor along with other loved ones to make sure I wasn't alone. She had the vision for this wedding and worked so hard. This was a dream wedding. She loves us all with all of her heart and shows us all the time. She goes way beyond what she has too. There were so many who helped in this wedding but she led the whole group effort. I cannot thank everyone enough. I attend church with all these sisters and they are my sisters. They are family. Our church is so different than normal churches. The love there is amazing. It is not just words but actions. I saw people doing so many things at the wedding. I was amazed. My church is an amazing church. They are givers of themselves. They sacrifice everything for others. There are many I have not named but you will be hearing about them also.
Thank you is not enough.

This is the main food table. That Grooms cake
is gorgeous! This picture was took before the wedding so the candles weren't lit yet and the punch is not in the beverage fountain.

Here is a close up picture of the Grooms cake.
Beth at the Book Nook also made this cake.
Sweet, sweet moment with her daddy!
She is a daddy's girl!
We already miss her but we know without a doubt that she is with her soul mate.

We know that he will protect her and provide for her with everything he has.

We could not ask for more in a son in law. We have known Lane for a long time. We know his life. He is a giver of his heart and he has given his heart to Maranda and she has given hers to him.

We are so blessed to have 3 great son in laws! Now it is time for my son to find us a sweet daughter in law! (hint hint)!

Me & my girls! Aren't they beautiful?
I am proud of all of them. Shannon and Mandy have given us gifts of grandchildren.
The gift of all gifts.

Special moment in the dressing room.
Excuse the mess!
But you have got to notice the camouflage garter!!!!
Too Cute!
I cannot even describe this ceremony with words. Lane and Maranda wrote their own vows. I will share the exact words later on when I see the Dvd. Lane started out by saying that he loved Maranda the first time he ever saw her. He told her how much he loved her and then he said that he not only wanted to spend his life here with her but he also wanted to spend it with her in eternity one day. There wasn't a dry eye in the house especially Maranda.
Then it was her turn. She told Lane that she had always dreamed of finding a love like her mother and daddy has and now she has found it. (Randy & I cried and held hands). You have got to understand these are 2 people that don't like to be in the spotlight but honestly they were so calm. Maranda went on to tell him that she would be good to him and love him and would be his constant friend. Everyone was crying at this point. Then Maranda looked at him so seriously and said, I promise you that I will even try deer hunting one time! It completely changed from tears to laughter! What a compliment that our daughter gave us! It touched our hearts deeply.

Now you have got to understand when you look at this picture of them kissing. These 2 are very quiet and laid back people. When he was told he could kiss the bride, he certainly did! It was great.

Lane has always put on Marandas seat belt for her when he puts her in the car.
It is so sweet. Here is he putting her in the car. I will share more details of this beautiful wedding later. I am so tired, happy tired.
Goodnight and thank you for your prayers. The wedding was perfect.

Rehearsal Dinner

This is Lane & Maranda welcoming everyone to the dinner.
Lane was saying he could not thank everyone by name because so many have helped us.
Then he asked Kaylon to say a prayer. This was a special night and the pictures
below are just a few of many.
This is Maranda with Lanes mother before the dinner. She has helped do so much. She is the one that made the beautiful cake you will see below on the dessert table. It was great. She is not losing a son, she is gaining a daughter............one of the sweetest people I know even if she is my daughter.

This was a sweet moment that I caught after the rehearsal was over.
I think they are getting excited.

This is Maranda & Lane with a very special friend of ours.
She is also helping us with the wedding. Regina is also the Director of the Hall we are having the wedding at. She also sings wonderful. I wish you could hear her. She is a special person in my life. We have the bestest friends!
We are blessed.
Shannon & Maranda

This is Tiffany and her mother, Reba & in the background is little Braden. This family are some of our very best friends.
They have always been there for us for anything we ever needed. Tiffany is working on the favors before the rehearsal dinner started. Thank you Tiff! Reba also gave Maranda & Lane a beautiful shower. Thank you Reba for all of your help. There are not words....

We had a full dinner thanks to my daughter Shannon. She had it catered. It was delicious.
This is our dessert table. Everything was great.
Thank you Shannon!

These are dear friends of ours. Kaylon is the one that will be performing the ceremony. We could not have picked anyone better. We are so excited.
His sweet wife Deia has been a great friend to Maranda for a long long time.

This is Rachelle. She is also a dear, dear friend to me. She is also one that will be there for you anytime you need her. She is also the wedding coordinator for the wedding and she is also Lanes neice. I don't know what we would do without her in our lives. Once we all ate, she opened up the floor for everyone to say something to Maranda & Lane if they wanted to. She started it and she almost cried when she told them what they meant to her.
Thank you Rachelle!
When my sweet honey got up to say something to them he gave Lane a gift. When Lane opened it Randy told him that those warm socks were just in case he got cold feet! I should have known he would be funny! It was so cute.
This is the favor that we gave everyone before they left.
Yes, it is a rice krispie treat! There is a story behind this.
When Lane & Maranda first got together it seemed like they were always in the kitchen.
I knew I loved Lane when I saw him wash dishes! No, we have known Lane for 20 years and he is great. They are meant to be together. Anyway, this is one of the first things that they ever made together. The tag says "Life is Sweet".
This is me telling the story above and why we chose this little favor for everyone.
I don't have a picture of Lanes nephew Alex but when he got up to speak it was unreal.
Alex is about 18 years old and Lane has helped raise him and his sister. Alex who is a young man of few words spoke up and told Lane how thankful he was for him sacrificing his life for them. It was the most touching thing I have ever heard. Tears were streaming down his face as he shared this. He told Lane that it was time for him to have what he wanted in life. There was not a dry eye in the room. I could not help myself. I had to get up and hug him. It was just one of those special moments that we all will never forget.
There were so many sweet things said but too many to list.
Everyone is so excited about Maranda & Lane!

This is out in the hall as we rehearsed. This is just a sneak preview! Please pray that it all goes well. It is after midnight right now and we have been working very hard when I realized this is actually the day of the wedding and I had not blogged the rehearsal dinner. We are so blessed to have all of these wonderful people in our lives.
This is the top part of the invitation that was sent out a few weeks ago.
I just loved what it says and this is their story.
An Answered Prayer.
Maranda & Lane
Please pray for all of us on this very special day.......just in a few hours!!
I better get some sleep before this big day.
Goodnight.
