The Path Forward....

I don't even like to think of all this. I sure don't like writing about it.  There were many bad things that happened during this time but also, many good things. I don't want to go back there though.  The only reason I am writing this is mainly for my children but as I have told you all, YOU are the only one that knows your body.  Listen to it.

Before Surgery but after we knew I had a tumor.
This was after colonoscopy.
I didn't know at that time that I had cancer.
Sweet Hunter says they told me, but I didn't remember.
According to all my friends that came, they say I was hilarious
and laughing.
I had to be drugged up.
It wasn't until 12 days later I really faced the fact of that word.
CANCER.

This is after my surgery.
My Moms face in this picture breaks my heart.
Nothing like a Mothers love.

I love him!
And he loves me!

I think this was several days after surgery.
I don't know.
It literally makes me sick writing all this and
not sure I can continue with many more details.

I received so many gifts and cards during all this.

I am so thankful for my friends and family.

I will have to stop for today.

I will continue in a couple of days.

I just hate what all my family went through.

I hate cancer!

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

The Vision Of The Desk & Chair

It all started at a wood yard in North Carolina.

He was getting the vision here.
I guess he was thinking....
this could be a leg of the desk.
Then we had to find 3 more.
The legs are cedar and custom cut
just for "Sweet Hunter".

Then he found the top of the desk.
It was a piece of maple.

Then we carried it home.

He set it all up in the garage.
I could see the vision.

At this point is where he went and called his "Cousin Troy",
who is a master carpenter.
He saw the vision too.
He took it home with him.

Then several weeks later he brought it back home to
"Sweet Hunter"!
There was no doubt that "Cousin Troy" saw the vision too.
Oh my!

"Sweet Hunter" was so excited!
We both were!
Then we had to go find a chair that was worthy of sitting behind this gorgeous desk!
Then we had to find the perfect cow hide rug to put it on!

The Vision is Complete!
Isn't it gorgeous?
The picture does not do it justice!
When "Sweet Hunter" got it back,
He said it was perfect.
He said he hoped that one day it would be an heirloom
that our children would keep forever
because he had a vision.
It all started in a wood yard but it is priceless to us!
Thank you to "Cousin Troy"!!!!
"Sweet Hunter" had the dream and "Cousin Troy" had the know how!

*********************************************************
Jesus built a bridge to Heaven,
So that I could have a way up to Him
Jesus built a bridge the only way he could
With only three nails and two pieces of wood,
with one rugged cross, Jesus built a bridge.
***************************
Thank you Lord for your vision of the bridge!

Golfing Or Hunting?

Why would "Sweet Hunter" want a golf cart?
And a beautiful golf cart......

He has never been a golfer!
But isn't it beautiful?

What? Take the top off?
What is "Sweet Hunter" thinking?

Now I get it!!!
Can you believe that this is the same golf cart?

He bought the camo wrap at a sporting goods store and then
took it to a guy that redid it. He changed it from a golf cart to
a hunting cart!!!
It is electric so it is so quiet you can't hear a thing when you are
driving it!
This little jewel will go to "Our Little Hilton"!

Today we got out and practiced shooting a couple of guns.

"Sweet hunter" can hit the bulls eye!

He always wants me to know how to shoot and be safe with a gun.
I am proud that he teaches me.
I took the bark right off the tree many times but never hit the bulls eye!
He asked me what was wrong and I told him that I was a "girl"!
He said that is no excuse!  (lol)
I thought it sounded pretty good!

I think I have turned in to a camera hunter!
This picture was took the end of April by my trail camera that I have set out.
Can you see where this buck is growing it's horns!
I can't wait to see what they look like when we go back to the Hilton!
I LOVE seeing the pictures on our trail cameras!
On our last trip to the Hilton we had over 700 pictures!

TODAY I AM THANKFUL FOR.......learning!

Friday Night Sew In At The Sparta Hilton

Don't laugh. I was out of masking tape and had to use priority tape.

(shhhh!!! Don't tell the Post Office) lol
I sandwiched this together at home and basted it with basting spray!

Then we came to the Sparta Hilton (hunting cabin) and I laid it on my bed
just like Granny used to do.

Then I rolled it up just like Granny taught me!

I got my little featherweight sewing machine out
and fixed my chair to lay my rolled quilt on just like Granny showed me.
I remember pulling that little chair in for Granny so many times.

I haven't brought my Singer 401 A to the Sparta yet.
But I will, because this little jewel can't handle what I need to do.
It is good for piecing but to quilt a big king size quilt is hard.

I loved sewing on this quilt though.
Right before Granny left us....."Sweet Hunter"
asked me to get Granny to make this quilt for him.
You may remember.....I asked him why didn't he want me to do it and he said,
"I would like to see it in my lifetime!!!"  I will never ever forget that!
(Smile).

So I am finally working on it, thanks to the encouragement
of Heidi and Bobbi as they host the Friday Night Sew In!

I am just a beginner so this quilt will be done just like Granny used to do.
Simple. That way I will get it done.
My goal is to let this be a Christmas present for my "Sweet Hunter".
(sssshhhh! Don't tell him....he doesn't get on a computer unless I show him something
so I don't have to worry about him seeing it)

I worked on this while "Sweet Hunter" was out hunting.
I had supper waiting when he got in and had this all put up by the time he came in.

He saw the little feather weight out and asked me what I was sewing.
I told him that I was just playing around with it.
Then I got back to crocheting my dish cloths.
I want this to be a surprise for Christmas.
This is not a fancy quilt but it is a quilt that he asked for.
A deer quilt for the Sparta Hilton!
*********************
Every time I sew, I remember Granny's favorite Bible verse.
I will never forget her holding her little heart and telling me that it will be in her heart forever.

"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me".
Philippians 4:13

You have got to go check out what my Sweet Mother is working on for the FNSI!!!
So Cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Day At Our House

I am not much on coffee unless I am cold but "Sweet Hunter"
likes to have it on the weekends before going deer hunting.
On weekdays he goes through the drive thru at McDonalds and gets the senior coffee!
I remember the first time he realized that he could get the "senior" coffee.  The speaker was tore up and he drove to the window and asked them for a cup of coffee.  Usually he paid around 80 cents for it.  The girl handed it to him and said "46 cents please."
He said "why is it cheaper?"  She said "you asked for a "senior" coffee didn't you?"  He said "I guess I did.  How old do you have to be?"  She said "55."  He called me and asked me how in this world did she know how old he was!!! It was hilarious!

After "Sweet Hunter" goes deer hunting he usually comes home to a breakfast like this.
Deer Tenderloin
Biscuits and gravy
Cheese eggs
Cooked apples
Is he spoiled or what??? I love it though.

I have been wanting to buy a "WII" for a while.
The grands got out of school early the other day so we just went and did it.
"Angel" loved it too even though they have all this at home.  There is just something special about having it at Gran's house.

"Brother" would get so aggravated if he didn't bowl as good as he wanted to.
He decided that we needed to play teams and he wanted to be on my team!!!
He is pretty smart, huh?

"Sweet Teen" even gave up her texting for a while and played with us!

Gran even gets hugs for buying the wii!
It is so much fun.  That made it worth it all!

"Brother" loved being on my team!
He gave hugs everytime we won!
He said he liked winning.

They made a Gran and a Paw Paw Mii (I think that a Mii is a Wii person).
They got the biggest kick out of making Paw Paw's!
Looks just like him.  Now does he look like a "Senior" Coffee man to you?? (lol)

Then Paw Paw ( better known as "Sweet Hunter") came home
and got the biggest kick out of that Mii they made for him.

Our den was a disaster when the grands were here!
As you can see when it came to the sword fighting....
Brother got serious!  Shirt & shoes had to come off.
He is so funny!

Then my dad came by to show us a quilt top that he made.
I think it is the prettiest one yet.
"Sweet Teen" was showing him pictures in her phone of a baby quilt that she just made.

Isn't this pretty?
I am so glad that he is back to quilting again.
It took him a while to get back at it after Granny left us.
Granny would want him too. She always told me that it keeps your mind busy.
Speaking of Granny.......Tomorrow is her birthday!
So there will be a special post just for Granny tomorrow.
I do most of my posts at night so it will probably show up on Monday.
I bet there will be a big birthday party in Heaven tomorrow.
She is Gone but is not forgotten.
Stay Tuned.....
