My Very First Mug Rug

I have had a very busy month but I knew that
I wanted to do the Christmas Through The Year with Allie
so I got busy tonight and whipped up my very first mug rug!

Last month I did several projects.  This month I was lucky to  get  one
Christmas present done.  But I did it!!!

This is actually going to be a set of 4 for someone special.

As you can see I actually am working on 2 at time here.

Don't look too close at the pictures.
Remember this is just my first one.

I could not believe how easy this is.
I am so excited.

And here it is all finished!!!
I made lots of mistakes as I am sure you can see.
But the next one will be better.

I am also joining Peg and Kris with our One Project A Month!
On my sidebar you can see my finishes for the month.
As I said, this was a very busy month but I am proud of what I did get done.
Thanks for the encouragment Allie, Peg & Kris!

Here is the tutorial that I followed as I was making this. Click Here!
Mine is not anything like hers but I was determined.

Today I am thankful for.............Determination.

What a wonderful Christmas gift. The last time I was here I tried to figure out what OPAM meant. Now I know.

Excellent job, Val - those are just darling! I love the decorative stitching you did on these too! And just think, you made it with hours to spare - it's only 10pm at my house!~

O Yes! Val!
It is a winner! I have a feeling that you feel like I - I do my gifts as my way of demonstrating how our Father gave to us and continues to do so daily.
Great job! :

I can't see the mistakes in your mug rug. All I see is the first one in a set of four and they will be a wonderful gift!

That is really cute. I hope you don't mind I saved a picture and am gonna try my best to make a set of them for my daughter. If I start now maybe I'll have them finished in time to send them for Christmas. I'm good at starting things but the finishing sometimes gets delayed.

it took me a while to figure out why that coaster is so big
but once I did, I think it is just genius! Hubby would love those year round for his evening snacks.

I love the mug rugs! Needled Mom made me one for Christmas and it is so pretty! You did a great job and isn't it nice that you can work on two at a time. I'm sure the recipient will be very pleased! :o)

Now I'm going to look for your recipe for that cake that was on your Mom's blog. :o)
