The Simple Womans Daybook for March

I am joining The Simple Woman's Daybook as I share my journal for today.

FOR TODAY: (actually tonight)

Outside my window... It is pouring rain.

I am thinking...I need to be asleep right now.  It is about 11:30 P.M and I am just now posting this.

I am thankful for...for my best friend Vicki.

From the kitchen...We had potato soup and homemade bread tonight.  Tomorrow night we are having barbecue ribs, potato salad and baked beans.

I am wearing...Pink Pajamas!!!

I am creating... a baby quilt, and an Easter Mug Rug

I am going...to sleep I hope.

I am reading...blogs!!!

I am hoping...that a prayer that I have prayed for 23 years will be answered soon.

I am praying for....a loved one to make the right choices.

I am hearing...rain hitting the gutters and a snoring "Sweet Hunter"!

Around the house...just work and quiet nights at home.

One of my favorite things...date night with my "Sweet Hunter".

A few plans for the rest of the week: Work

Here is a picture for thought that I am sharing... (actually 2 pictures).
Everytime I see these vanilla wafers I think of one thing.

My Grandma Cochran's cookie jar full of these cookies.
We never went to her house without getting into this cookie jar.
Great memory.

****************
Today I am thankful for...........my best friend that I love like a sister & I know that she loves me back.

The end of your posting tonight hits home. First of all, I had that cookie jar, we got it for a wedding gift over 40 years ago. I gave it to my sister.
Second, the statement about your best friend. It hit home today!
Sleep tight!

Val, I am loving all of the new posts! The baby shower stuff is just so sweet. Did you know that I have had six children and have never had a baby shower?! I have always wanted one but no-one ever threw one for me. Anyway, I really love anything to do with babies, so I loved reading those posts. :)
Hugs~

Very sweet! And yes, I remember how all three of you girls ran to your Grandmother's cookie jar every time we went to visit her.
Your best friend, Vicki, is the best friend anyone can have and I have adopted her as my "adopted daughter"!

Yumm, I like the sound of your meals..I always have potato salad, baked beans and slaw with barbecue ribs and with ham. some things just go together don't they...now I'll have to pick up the ingredients for this meal at the store tomorrow...you know that ground sirloin I needed to brown and freeze..well the date on it says the 4th and I didn't buy it until the 3rd so out it goes..I've got to do better than that.

My gran always had a cookie jar filled up as well and I remember more often than not she had homemade date cookies in it:-) I make those same cookies...hmmmm, haven't made them in a while so I should go find my recipe!!

Enjoyed reading your Daybook and hopefully you were able to get some sleep after posting it! I'm bad for that, I usually work on a post late at night and sometimes it's after midnight before I finally get to bed.

It's been snowing since yesterday over here but now it seems to be changing to rain. The streets are going to be messy!! Big hugs sent your way. xoxo

It BLESSES me knowing that you and Vicki are so close. Thank you for loving my sister, too. What's not to love... she's the BEST! And it's comforting to know that you're the BEST, too. Still waiting on that trip to Florida. I'd even settle for a day trip with our Godsent sisters.
