First of all let me ask you to forgive my blurry pictures. I took pictures of pictures. Second, this is not a typical Easter story, yet to me, this is what it is all about. |
One of our Pastors mentioned in a sermon about the hungry children in the world going to bed at night with no food to eat and he mentioned how blessed he was, to be able to feed his children. |
At our church we have a food bank called "The Share Baskets". It is totally funded by our local Church members. |
The next Wednesday night, these children not only donated their money, but took their time to shop and then unload and stock the shelves in our food pantry at Church. |
There are several that work in the "Share Baskets". We were all touched as we watched the excitement of these little children helping to feed the hungry. |

Wow, what a great story and thank you for sharing it. These children are truly blessings from God. I can't think of any child who would be so touched in this way.
Happy Easter to you and your family!
He is risen indeed!
What a lovely story, it is so improtant for our children to learn these important truths...yes there are people without and yes we can all do something to help.
Thank you for sharing this, I am just in the processes of setting up a food pantry in our church so this has been a great encouragement for me. Have a blessed Easter!
What an encouraging and inspiring post. Thank-you!
What a precious and touching story. We too have a food bank funded by the church members. Ours is called the "Come To Me" food bank.
Happy Easter! God is alive and I am His child.
Such a wonderful story about the children spending their money for the food.
Enjoy the day!
Alleluia!! He is risen and showing His love for others is what it's all about. Thank you for this beautiful story of that very special family. Happy Easter to you and your loved ones, Val.
You have me crying. This is what it's all about. If only more adults would get the vision these precious children had. Beautiful!! Happy Easter. Hugs
Leave it to the children to teach us responsibility and how to put our faith into action. Beautiful children, beautiful story. Thank you for sharing this with us.
The change God has wrought in all of our lives makes me wonder at the miracle that it is. He is risen. Keep sharing this miracle with your precious little ones.
What a wonderful story - that's exactly why Jesus loves the children so much. :) blessings, marlene
I love the song - "Jesus loves the little children...all the children of the world.....".
Happy Easter to you, Val and to "Sweet Hunter"! I know you are probably with your whole family.
Blessings to you,
Susannah
Beautiful children,and beautiful story.
That is such a beautiful story! And the heart of a child says it best!
And a little child shall lead them - thank you for sharing this story, sweetie! Happy Easter!
And a child shall lead them. How much more can you say when it comes from the purity of the little ones.
This is a special post...thank you for sharing...just giving money their parents gave them might not make the same impression on the children...I think shopping for the food and stocking the shelves as well as using some of their own money is a real lesson.

He is risen indeed!
