Home Sweet Home

We are home and trying to catch up on everything. This is the first trip that I have ever been on that I could not wait to come home. We have not stopped working since we have been here, but there is nothing like HOME though. I missed my garden, my pond, my sewing machine, my plants, my gator, my bed, but, most of all I missed my "Sweet Mother"! We don't get to see each other often, but we talk every night! My "Sweet Honey" could not believe that I was glad to come home. I must be getting older because this is a new experience for me. There is something at home that you cannot get anywhere else. There is peace and a sense of security. We had a wonderful time at the beach, but I sure am glad to be home.
Stay, stay at home, my heart, and rest;
Home-keeping hearts are happiest,
For those that wander they know not where
Are full of trouble and full of care;
To stay at home is best.
Weary and homesick and distressed,
They wander east, they wander west,
And are baffled and beaten and blown about
By the winds of the wilderness of doubt;
To stay at home is best.
Then stay at home, my heart, and rest;
The bird is safest in its nest;
O'er all that flutter their wings and fly
A hawk is hovering in the sky;
To stay at home is best.
Longfellow (song)

I agree with you about being home! And I am so glad to have you back1 I am glad you had a great vacation, but there is just a peace about coming back. Love the poem! It just fits!

I totally get it...I would rather be home than anywhere in the whole world. I am happiest when I am at home and when I'm away I can't wait to get back. I once enjoyed travel but along life's way my perspective did a turn around and ever since I long to be home, sweet home.

I'm the same. I enjoy being away for a day or two. After that I can't wait to get home.

Welcome home! No matter how much I love to go visit my dear grandbabies, I still say, "Ahhh," when I come home. And then I have to rest up from all the work getting home brings! :)
