What Do You Do In A Hotel Room?

Sweet Hunter is working and I am in the hotel room.
I look around the room and get an idea.

Is that cardboard on the back of that little notepad?
So I cut 2 little squares out of them.

Just so happens that I always carry a few necessary items in my bag.

When I learned to make my first quilt, I was taught to make a cardboard template.
And there was no such thing as a rotary cutter!

So that is what I did in the hotel room.
I improvised.

I didn't even have a sewing machine but I had  a needle and thread.

What am I gonna do with it now that it is all sewed together?
I have no idea but whatever it will be it will be all hand sewn when I finish it.

And of course there is always some crocheting going on in the car and the hotel!
There is just something about keeping my hands busy.

TODAY I AM THANKFUL FOR........my hands.

Quilts In The Chapel

This Chapel is located at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

We recently went there for a short trip and
were blessed to have some Dollywood tickets given to us.

Sorry about the reflection but I wanted you to see this quilt.
It is just beautiful.

The Last Supper

In The Manger

This is another quilt on the wall.

This is one of 2 quilts that are up in the front on the wall.

This is the other one!

In The Garden
The Wisemen

The Carpenter

Healing The Sick

The Shepherds

David and Goliath

Samson

Joseph's Coat

I know that was a lot of pictures but the quilts were just beautiful.
                                                       I have always loved Dollywood.
I was intrigued with the blocks on that big quilt.
We were a pair.  I had vertigo and "Sweet Hunter's" back kills him when he walks but we had FREE tickets and were not gonna miss going!
It was really funny. We both would have to stop and sit down every few minutes.
Sometimes you just have to laugh!!!

Quilt Store Makes It All Better

We just returned from a trip to St. Augustine, Florida.
We went with one of my daughters, "Trouble" and granddaughter "Angel" and my

I was sick with vertigo and a sinus infection most of the time but my "Sweet Mom" decided that she knew what would make me feel better. She was right.

She surprised me by finding this quilt store in St. Augustine.

Aren't these beautiful quilts?

We had a lot of fun. We ate lots of good food and enjoyed being together.

Everyone is so busy all the time. This is a trip to just slow down and enjoy each other.
Is my Mom the sweetest thing or what?
She always thinks of others and today she was thinking of me.
This was back in the classroom.

I love visiting different quilt shops just to get different ideas and see what others are doing.
Maybe one day I will get back to quilting.
On our 8 hour drive to St. Augustine and back we had some great discussions.
My "sweet honey" was the driver most of the time. We love to hear things about my Mother's growing up. There is a lot we don't know. I do know that I sure do love my Mother.
I enjoyed my time with her and my family even when we weren't doing anything.
Sometimes Mom would be reading a book, my Honey would be watching a ball game, my daughter & granddaughter would be studying and I would be on computer but we still had a great time.
The lady at the store was so nice and told us about some things that were going on in St. Augustine that night.
I wasn't much fun on this trip but I am feeling better now.
I came home and went to bed and stayed all day yesterday.
About 2 weeks ago I was diagnosed as having vertigo. I didn't have it too bad and it was mainly at night when I turned my head. Then right before we left for our trip I went to the beauty shop and got my hair cut. I knew when I laid my head back to get it washed that I didn't feel right.
After getting my hair washed, dried and cut and then blown dry.......I was so sick. I think when she did my hair it really got the vertigo going. Then came the sinus infection. Well the main thing is I am getting better now. It sure makes you feel thankful to have your health.
This is the first quilt that I saw when we walked in the quilt store. We enjoyed a lot of things on our trip but this was my favorite thing. The Quilt store and my Mom made it all better! My Mom is the most giving, sharing, loving woman I know. Thank you Mom for thinking of me. You are a true example of what a Godly woman is. Thank you for being you.

Sure Honey!

Sweet Hubby: Wanna go fishing?
Me: Sure Honey.
Sweet Hubby: Look how big this river is.
Me: Look. There is a little dock I could fish from.
Sweet Hubby: I bet there are some big ones in here.
Me: Looks kind of rough to me.
Sweet Hubby: Look at those deep holes.

Me: Where you going honey?

Sweet Hubby: Just follow me.

Me: O.K.?

Sweet Hubby: Wrong place. Turn around.
Me: Looks awful snakey to me.
Sweet Hubby: O.K. Lets go over here. You go first.
Me: O.K. (Hey how did hubby get that camera?)

Sweet Hubby: Just climb over. Come on!

Oops!
Now you think this is staged for the picture but this is really actually me falling down.
Sweet hubby had the camera because he was carrying stuff for me as we went down this trail.
I went trout fishing a long time ago deep in the woods with hubby and I said that I would not do that again. How I got here, I just don't know! I found out a while back that there are 2 ways to trout fish. You can go deep in the woods with the snakes and bears or you can pull your car off and fish in a shallow stream. I like the shallow stream! We finally stopped and he caught a couple of good trout. I caught about 5 little succers! I think I like fishing from the boat better! It was so fun though!! I love our special trips.
Next time I say "sure honey"......I will make sure where we are going! Ha!
