My Journey Continues.....

While I was in the hospital I had 2 friends, Lona and Jalanda that came and put up my tree, and because it wasn't Christmas, they did a Fall tree for me.  When I saw this,  I cried.  They bought the decorations and all. I wouldn't take a thing for what I found when I came home. They had my house clean and everything.
Friendship, true friendship is priceless.
I didn't have to worry about the farm,
(not that I would have known to worry lol)
because Lona took care of everything they said.

I don't know what I would have done without my family.
They really showed me what love is.
This is Sweet Hunter & our oldest daughter, Shannon helping me walk
down the hall. Shannon has always been my strong one.
We have been through a lot together.
You can see down the hall, my Sister in Love, Glo.
I was so weak.
My family & the Lord was/is my strength.

I am documenting these pictures so we will never forget.
Life is short.
This is my other daughters, Maranda & Mandy.
Even from the side of their faces, I see their pain.

I am so ready to get through with this story.
But I so want anyone reading this to know that life can change in a heartbeat.
And that's why I am sharing this.
Don't ever take life for granted.
I was strong and healthy.
I have heard many say I could have done this or that.
That is not true.
I have seen babies have cancer.
It is not their fault.
Something like this doesn't just affect me.
It affects the whole family.
This is my sweet mom.
They said she came everyday.
A Mothers heart.
She will probably kill me for posting this picture.
She hates her picture took which I honestly
don't understand.
She's beautiful.
Most people wouldn't post pictures like this of themselves
but I bet this was my first coke after surgery!
Funny thing is one of my other things that happened was
right after the fall in Jan. 2018, I lost my desire for coke.
Anyone that knows me, knows I have to have my coke early in the mornings.
I wonder if this is coke!
I did get my desire back.
Funny how a tumor can cause all of these issues.
I think I told you about the smell in my nose.
That started in right after the fall too.
I love this picture.
Look at me and my baby girl holding hands.
I don't remember any of this.
They told me that when I was in surgery they were praying
it was NOT Stage 4.
I asked her how they knew to pray that.
She said, Google!!!
Thank the Lord it was Stage 3c.
I pray i never have to face this again & I have faith that I won't.
But my journey was just beginning.
I hate cancer.

Sparta Hilton- Our First Fire Inside

"Sweet Hunter" says that he likes me being an afternoon hunter.
He likes to come in to a nice breakfast on the fire.

I promise that this is not all I do!  See me wearing a t-shirt?
You don't see that at home.
If you see me wearing the same clothes over and over it is
because we leave clothes here.  It is nice not having to pack a lot.

Salt pork, scrambled eggs, gravy & homemade biscuits & cooked apples.
Breakfast is ready!

It gets pretty warm during the day but is getting chilly early in the mornings here.

Next weekend is suppose to be colder at nights than it has been so "Sweet Hunter"
thought he better get some wood ready for our little wood heater in the cabin.

Our first fire inside the cabin.
See the little concrete blocks?  My Sweet Mother gave us these.
I just love them.  We are gonna get some pea gravel and fill in underneath the heater.
But isn't the fire great?  Oh I love it!
I have missed the smell of a wood fire inside.

I love it and it is really warm too!
It is almost too warm in the living room.
This is my kind of "hunting".
Pajamas, computer, fire, cinnamon rolls, coffee ( coke for me), and a good movie on.
I love this hunting stuff!

A Special Quilty Day

Here is our Quilt block that we are making this month with our favorite quilt store.

Here it is on the sample quilt that they have hanging on the wall.

Our day started by picking up my grands & heading to my Mom's house. Before we left Mom gave Angel a cute little purse.

Mom was showing Angel & Sweet Teen the baby quilts she is making. You have got to look at Brother. I don't think he really wanted to be with us that day. Here he is yawning.

Here we are at the quilt store. This is my grands first trip to see this store.
They loved it.
Brother was fine as long as he had his ipod to play with.

When we go to this little class there is always a Show n' tell. I was so proud of the quilt that Sweet Teen made for me that I brought it along and asked her if she cared if I showed them.
So look who was first with the show n' tell. I was so proud. Everyone could not believe that she was 15 and already quilting.
After the class the girls were admiring this panel.

Look at this photograph that was hanging on the wall. Pretty house, huh?

Oh my goodness! Look at this little quilt!
The quilt store is actually offering a class on how to do this.
Then we headed to Hancock's Fabric store. My mother bought the girls some fabric and she didn't leave Brother out! Look what he picked! Underneath that fabric is the ipod!

Sweet Teen has her fabric all picked out.
Angel got some too!
Did I tell you all that Angel is making a quilt?

And back to my Moms we go. The girls were so impressed with Mom's Dutch doll quilt!
They listened to every word. By now the ipod is dead and Brother is in the other room ready to go! He was so funny. We had a great day with my Mom! It was a special quilty day. It was a good day.

Thift Store Or Mom's House?

I found this quilt top at the thrift store. It is all hand done.

I only paid $5.50 for this! Would you do this for 5.50?
I wonder if the person who made it knows that it was put in a thrift store.
I wonder what she was thinking as she worked on this.

I found this picture at the thrift store too.
It has that verse on it that says:
"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee."
How true is that? The frame looks like barn wood.

My sweet Mom has been cleaning out and organizing. (she is neat as a pin). If you have not visited her blog go see what she is up to. She called me the other day and said that she had some things for me. I went to pick them up and I was so excited.
Is this not the cutest picture?

And here is another..............

And another!

Look at these gorgeous pillow cases from Moms house.

And these..............

And these were my favorites!

Cookie cutters from Mom's house! Oh I had so much fun going through all this stuff.
There is more from Moms house that I will show later on. I like thrift stores but I LOVE my Moms stuff!
Mom's stuff is treasures.
Thank you Mom!

Quilters, Gardeners, Bloggers & Moms

My Mother & I went to Blairsville Georgia to a qullt show this past Friday. This was actually my very first quilt show! I loved it. I enjoyed looking at all the quilts but the most fun was being with my Mom. I am only showing 1 quilt on this post because I have way too much to share but you can see more over on my Moms Blog. I will also be showing more in posts to come. Carolina Lilly

This antique quilt was made by Fritz Simonen's Great Grandmother, Elizabeth Moore Miller.

She lived in Iowa and died in 1894 after a very long illness. It is estimated that she made this quilt in the mid 1800's. The brown leaves were actually green when she made it, they have faded over the years. She probably ran out of that green fabric before she finished the last leaf and border. She then purchased more green fabric which did not fade because it was not the same dye lot.

I would love to introduce you to my new friend. Her name is Dot and you can visit her here.

We were at the quilt show and she came up and introduced herself as a fellow blogger. We had an instant connection. We hugged and felt like we had known each other all of our lives. It was just like we meet and have coffee everyday. I loved it. Thank you Dot.

As we were heading home we went through Blue Ridge Ga. That is where my sweet hubby & I stayed in a cabin not too long ago that I absolutely loved. I wanted to show Mom but wasn't sure that I could find it but I did. We got out and walked around and my mother loved it as much as I do.

For some reason when my hubby is driving and I see something that I would love to take a picture of or stop and visit, he just seems to pass it up. He is just one of those people that if he is driving home, that is his goal and there are no stops. I think it is a man thing.

Well, this trip I was driving. I saw the beautiful garden above and passed it and was telling Mom about it and thought to myself.............STOP AND LOOK. So I turned my little car around and we both got out. It was a Dahlia garden. Beautiful.

My beautiful Mom showing me a Dahlia
and sharing her knowledge of them with me.
My Mom has always loved these gorgeous flowers.

There are more than 50,000 different Dahlias
in every shade imaginable except the elusive blue.

The plants come in a wide range of shapes and sizes
from the tiny liliput that only reach 2 ft. tall to the enormous ones
that have blooms the size of a dinner plate.
This is my favorite one!!!

My Mom & I had many more fun times on this special day and I will be sharing soon.

Quilters, Gardeners, Bloggers & MOM'S are among the best!
I enjoyed my day Mom!
Go over to my Mom's blog to see more quilts from the quilt show!

Special Time With My Mom & The Quilt Store

This is my beautiful Mom showing me her quilt blocks that her & her best friend worked on this past weekend.

You can read more here. Moms best friend cut all these blocks for her as a gift.
Here Mom Is showing me how she is going to embellish these blocks with buttons and ribbons.
They spent last weekend at my Moms house having a little quilt retreat of their own.
What would we do without "best friends"?

This is a quilt top using panels
that they showed us at the quilt store.

Look at this gorgeous table runner.

This is a quilt top using a panel that she showed us at the Quilt store.

Another Quilt Top

Christmas already?

This is the quilt we are working towards at the Saturday Sampler.

This panel was hanging in the quilt store. Me & Mom really loved it.

It had some of our favorite verses on it. You may have to enlarge it to see it closer.

My Mom & I live about 30 minutes apart so we don't get together very often but when we do it is so much fun. We talk every night through Yahoo Messenger. We go to this quilt store once a month for the Saturday Sampler so this is our special time. We always start this day with breakfast at Panera Bread. I enjoy my time with Mom so much. I have so much going on and so many people that are dependant on me that this is like a little getaway with Mom. This is our second year doing this with the Quilt Store and I hope we have many many more special times. We both have "best friends" but we are "best friends" too!
