Wow! A Lot of Changes Happening! The Farm. The Lake. And us!

So before I tell you our dreams and desires,
I want to show you this!
It is not stuff. Its real love!
Sweet Hunter has never put a sticker on his cars.
Ever.
But when he fulfilled this dream, he added this sticker.
Yes! As a woman, from a woman, this meant everything to me.
We live in a world full of stuff but showing love
is what its all about!
A sticker is just a little bit of how he shows his love.
Now its my time to show him by supporting his dreams
in this season of our life.
He deserves it.

Wow! I don't know where to begin!
It's been a whirlwind!
Sorry its been so long!
Last post we were hanging curtains in the living room at the farm.

As many of you know we started a little over 2 years ago at the lake!
Sweet Hunters dream!
We bought a camper in a campground.
We loved it and spent most weekends fishing or just having fun.
And our whole family loves it too!

Next we sold it to a very sweet couple (I think I have already shared this on here.)
Next we bought the "The Little house on the lake!"
It was a Little cottage and then a big camper!
You can scroll down to see it.
And we loved it!
Had so much fun there!

Then Sweet Hunter told me his dream was to retire on the lake!
I already knew that but he was serious this time!
(Smile.)
He also told me that the farm needed some younger folks!
Although we both loved our home, I so agreed.
We've been through a lot there.
Good times and hard times.
So we put the farm up for sale.
Maybe my next post will be on that story.
It's a God story.
Yep. I will do that next.

Another one of his dreams was to have a jeep!
Well, that happened before we sold the farm.
Circumstances happened that made this happen quicker
than we planned.
He looks so happy!
It is the coolest Jeep.
I love it.

Well, to make a long story short,
we have sold the farm and moved.
Bought another place on the lake for our transition period.
It is a great place and we have had so much fun here.
I will do another post on it.
It is really nice but most of our stuff is still packed because Sweet Hunter's
other dream is a house on the lake!
Working on that now!
We still have an address in our home town and probably always will
because we do everything there.

Sweet Hunter deserves everything he wants
and I am honored to be by his side!
43 years & he still loves his wife! (sticker-lol)
And I love him.
So again, although this seems like its all about stuff, it's not!
We are just rearranging stuff we had!
Life is short. Make it sweet!

Blue Ridge Lake

This lake was absolutely beautiful. The fishing was lousy but the views were beautiful. We were told that Travis Tritt and Faith Hill own homes on this lake. This lake has a rocky bottom and in some places you can actually see the bottom. It is cystal clear and almost blue. The lake is home to bass, bream, catfish, perch and crappie, which make the area popular with anglers. It is the only lake south of the Great Lakes where Walleye are caught, and is also known for white bass fishing. Enjoy the pictures below.

Look At All The Books In This Cabin

I thought you might enjoy seeing the books & magazines here in this cabin in Blue Ridge Georgia. These are just a few, but I was intrigued by all of them. I was just amazed how many there are. The books are wonderful books. You can tell what kind of people the owners are by the things in the cabin. The owners are friends of my daughter, Mandy. That is how we found out about this cabin. We were just going to stay in a motel but when Mandy found out we were coming she called and we came over and saw this little piece of heaven and received a blessing by getting to stay here. I have thought of my Mom a lot while here. She is a reader and as I have looked around at all of these books and magazines I could just imagine her sitting here on the back porch listening to the water flowing in this little creek as she was reading. We are here to fish but this cabin just makes you want to stay here and do nothing. We will be staying here again.

Cabin In The Woods

Here we are on another little fishing trip in Blue Ridge Georgia! I just had to show you this gorgeous cabin and my big fish that I caught. Just don't look at the hair. The wind was blowing so hard!!! This fish is a blue gill and the picture does not do it justice. It is huge for its species. My sweet hubby says that I am becoming a pretty good fisherwoman!!! I think that is a compliment! Life is good. Pictures are below.

A Great Weekend

This past weekend we stayed at my husbands, brother's lake house. We had the best time. Their place is on Watts Bar Lake and the view from their place is beautiful. We didn't even put our boat in the lake though. We fished the Tennesee River which is 3 minutes from their house. We also went to the Clinch River which is about 30 minutes away from the house. We are also about an hour and half away from Gatlinburg. We have a favorite breakfast place there and we almost drove to eat in Gatlinburg one morning but slept too late! This picture was took as it was getting dark from our boat. We love to fish in the afternoons up until dark or after. We are not early risers so this works out great for us. It is way too hot during middle of the day to be out on a boat so we take advantage of this time to eat some good meals and relax. I love this kind of fishing! We eat at good restaurants and then are blessed to stay at their lake house. What more would you want?

This fish that Randy is holding is what we are after. It is a Striper. The only thing is....we want his daddy! 13 years ago Randy caught a 40 lb. & a 36 lb. Striper on the Clinch River. We have them on our wall. So we were anxious to go back. Now you talk about fun! These fish are fighters! But this one is just a baby!
Now look what I found......no, not a striper but a 7 lb Drum.
This was so much fun to catch. He was so big! I was the Drum Queen this weekend and Randy was the Catfish King! I caught the biggest fish and he caught the most.

He caught this drum after I caught mine. His weighed about 6 lbs.
We are having so much fun fishing. There is not any sewing going on right now but I am having a ball with my sweet honey! We love to get away from all of the work here at home and get away from the phones. We had so much fun this weekend. Fishing was fun but we actually got some much needed rest too. Sunday we did get up early and fish in the morning. When we got back we just relaxed the whole afternoon. We didn't even leave until about 9 p.m. Neither of us wanted to leave! Their lakehouse is so nice and peaceful. It meant a lot to us to have a place to stay that you know is nice and clean. Thank you so much to my Brother in law & Sister in law!

We had to go pick up our boat last week before they let the water down at the lake. We started our day at one of our favorite places to eat breakfast. It was a beautiful day so we decided to fish just a little. There were bait fish jumping everywhere so my "Sweet Honey" got the net and threw it and caught the shad so easily. He caught a lot in the net and we were ready to go! We fished for a couple of hours and didn't catch but one fish!!! So we decided to load the boat up and go get something to eat. It was so nice just to get away even just for the day. The colors were so beautiful and the lake looked like glass. The fishing was lousy, but the scenery was just gorgeous.

"Our" Weekend

We had the best little weekend trip I guess I have ever been on! I was not crazy about going because I had so much to do and didn't feel good, but then my Mom kept encouraging me to go and have a good time. Then I received the sweetest e-mail from my good friend, Connie. She told me go and make this weekend "mine"! I really thought about that. I am so used to constantly taking care of others, that I wasn't sure I knew how to do that. But evidently, my "Sweet Honey", had this in mind also. We normally just wear ourselves out fishing. We normally get up early & fish and go back out at night & fish. Don't get me wrong, I love fishing. But for some reason this time, I just wanted to rest and have peace. And that is what we did. Friday night, we went out fishing and I caught the biggest for the weekend that night, but someone didn't get the camera in time before it broke the line. So needless to say there is no picture of it! It was a 3 pound smallmouth. I was so proud! As a matter of fact there are no pictures of any fish, except a little one. We caught lots of bluegill but no big ones. But its ok. On Saturday, we slept in late, which is unheard of at my house. Then we took a ride in the boat. It was so relaxing and peaceful. We found my aunt and uncles lakehouse that I have never been to. They weren't there, but now we know, so we can visit them. We also found the Blog Cabin on DIY. It is gorgeous! I took several pictures of it as you can see. Then we went out to eat and came back and just relaxed. Sunday morning, we got up early and fished a while and then went back to the house and rested the rest of the day. We knew it was getting late, but we both didn't want to leave so about 8 p.m. my "sweet honey" said, lets just stay another night. I was all for that! So we came back this morning. We didn't want to leave then, but we knew we needed to. We are so blessed to have this place to stay. It is my husbands brother & his wifes lake house. They are so sweet to share it with us. It is so nice and so peaceful. I took pictures of a few little treasures in her house. We both just loved this weekend. They have 7 or 8 hummingbirds that visit their porch. I tried to get pictures but they didn't turn out too good. But you would have to see it to believe it. I could never get a picture with all of them, but they actually flutter all around the feeder all at once. The last weekend that they went, she told me how much she enjoyed just sitting and watching them. So did I. My "sweet sister in law" called this afternoon to see if we had enjoyed it. She said they prayed for us on Saturday that we would have a great time. Well, we felt those prayers. I have never been so relaxed. And yes, I made it "my" weekend! I loved it!

Going to the Lake

We are leaving tomorrow to go to the lake! My Sweet daughter is doing better from her surgery and has went home now. I already miss her! We went to the Dr. today and he said it will be at least 2 months before she is back to normal again. But she is doing well. By the time she is over this foot surgery, she will be getting the other one done. Thanks for all the emails and prayers for her. Anyway, we are heading off to the lake for the weekend for a little break. We love to fish, so that is what we will be doing if the weather cooperates. We are so blessed to have a place to stay, because my Sweet honey's brother has a place which is where our boat is. I am sure that I will be taking lots of pictures! Imagine that! So I will be offline a couple of days. Enjoy your weekend!

Fourth of July At The Lake

We spent this past weekend at the Lake. My "Sweet daughter", Maranda, and her "Sweet honey" went with us. We fished our hearts out, but didn't get the results that we got last time with the big ones. Now we got into some bluegill and had a ball catching them. I caught the big one of the trip. We got to see the best fireworks shows I have ever saw right from our boat. They had them Friday and Saturday night. We sat in the middle of a cove and watched them. We took pictures but they didn't turn out. Honestly, it was beautiful! One night we had supper with my "Sweet honey's" brother & his wife at their lake house. We cooked out and had a great time. My "Sweet SIL" surprised us with the best dessert...Paula Deen's Banana Split Ice cream cake! YUM! It was a great weekend. Happy Fourth to you all!

Our Weekend At The Lake

My Other Favorite Hobby - Fishing!

We went to the lake again this weekend. We were so blessed to have such a nice place to stay. I am not real big on staying in motels. We were so blessed because my SIL & BIL were so sweet to let us stay in their lakehouse this weekend. They were out of town, so we just pretended that it was our place. Thank you to M & G for sharing your blessings. We weren't there that much, because we spent most of the time on the lake. We got up early and then went back out and fished at night. We had so much fun. There are actually more pictures of bigger fish that "My Sweet Honey" caught but he would not let me put the pictures on here because he was hot and didn't have a shirt on. He caught the most and the biggest! Notice the picture of the tree that has a big nest in it. We were in a cove and throwing a net to catch our bait and this bird was going crazy. I guess she thought we were going to hurt her babies. The other tree--look real close. There are a lot of really strange birds in this tree. We caught so many fish, we lost count. And yes, don't laugh, but those are plastic gloves on my hands. I just got a manicure! We also love to eat lunch on the boat. We just had such a wonderful time. If I can't be quilting, this is my other favorite hobby.

True Love is pulling the big one in!

"My Sweet Niece", her boyfriend, her big fish!

Me & my Biggest fish!
Sorry guys, the girls outfished you!

The other Captain, "My Sweet BIL!

"My Sweet SIL" always thinking of others!

We have had a great weekend with "My Sweet Honey's" brother and his wife. They have a lakehouse and we have a boat! Great combination, huh? We had such a wonderful time. My SIL is a wonderful cook and she always aims to please everyone. I knew that she would try to take care of all of us, so I made a cake and a casserole to try to help and we ate that the first night. She had made a coconut sour cream cake that was out of this world. Maybe she will share the recipe with me and I will share with you. They grilled pork chops, chicken, hamburgers, & brats! We definately ate well! My MIL went with us also. She just celebrated her 78th birthday. We took her for a ride on the boat, but she mostly stayed in the house. We were all very honored to have her. My SIL and I often talk about how she raised 2 good, honest, faithful & Christian boys which are "Our Sweet Honey's!" We both love them so and are very proud of them. We each have 4 children. Out of all of our children, only 1 came to the lake. We were honored to have "My Sweet Niece" and her boyfriend. They are so cute & in love. They went fishing with us several times. We had a ball! We are home now and getting back to reality, but looking forward to many more good times with our family at the lake!

My SIL & Her "Sweet Honey"
Is that me backing the truck up? This could be scary!!
I did it! Boat safely in water- Truck safely on land!
View from the boat dock

Who said it was going to be warm & sunny?

So cold....But so glad to be here!

We decided it was a good time to take the boat to the lake yesterday but ........boy it was so cold!!
"My Sweet Hunter's" brother and his wife have a lake house and invited us to put our boat there. It is so nice and peaceful there. We are so excited. We never get to see each other, so maybe we will get to spend some family time together at the lake. We were so cold, but went for a little ride anyway! Thank goodness we had blankets and coats! After we got through putting the boat in the slip, we went out to eat together. We rode around and looked at some of the houses on the lake. They were just beautiful! They took us to the neatest little country store. I wish I had took my camera in the store. It was so unique.
I sure hope it gets warm so we can go fishing!!!!
