Friday Night Sew In, OPAM.... BUT I Have A Problem

Well this is not my problem......I went last Saturday with my Mom
to our favorite quilt store and I came back with all of this.
We also visited JoAnn's! We had a ball!!!

And this is not my problem either!
I rolled my Peaches and cream yarn into balls and put them in my new jar.
I have wanted this jar for a long time and was too tight to spend the 9.99 it costs.
Isn't that silly? I had it in my mind that I could make one.......
I finally figured out that it was not going to happen.
I LOVE it!
I am glad that I bought it.

This is not a problem either....
This is what i am working on with Heidi and Bobbi's Friday Night Sew In!
I also am joining in the OPAM with Peg!
I picked something small so I could really finish it.
This is my first dish cloth and I loved doing it.
It was easy and fun!
There is another FNSI next Friday night, December 17!!!
Come join in the fun!

THIS IS MY PROBLEM........And it is a problem!
I LOSE everything! I bought a new pocketbook that has a place for a cell phone
and my camera on the outside of it.
It worked for a few days. Then it happened. Last night I could not find my cell phone anywhere!
"Sweet Hunter" had to call it to find it and guess where it was!
In my pocketbook.....but not in the place it is suppose to be.
Then.....my glasses......oh my!
Then......my camera......................what do I do?
Oh yes, in my overnight bag I could not find my toothbrush!
I keep my overnight bag packed all the time because we travel
so much, so the other day I got the bright idea to organize it.......
then we go on a trip and that is when I realized that I could not find my toothbrush.
Now it is in a bright purple TB holder.
I went and bought another toothbrush and then guess what happened?
I found it!!!! Guess where? In my overnight case!!!
I organize.....I can't find.....so I have come to the conclusion that........
I HAVE A PROBLEM!

Piler or Filer?

Are you a Piler or a Filer?
Piler: One who puts things in a pile.
Filer: One who files things.
Warning: I am a piler.  The pictures do get worse but I am making progress.
This post is for the people that think I am just perfect like my Sweet Mother!
My basement needs a lot of help.  I have been removing items the last few days because we had a yard sale yesterday and today.
I was determined to get rid of "stuff".  I am so over it.  So as I went through things, pulling things out I ended up with lots of piles.
Why is paint still out?  I haven't painted anything in over a year.
And what is all that stuff piled with the paint?
I was going back and forth between the basement of the house to the garage carrying things out when I noticed old pots sitting around here and there.  So here I made another pile.  But right now I am working on the basement and don't need to get sidetracked by starting outside.
Lets see what all I see here.  A hamper.  Gift wrapping supplies.
Is that cassette tapes?  Scrapbooking bags. I could go on and on.
This hamper was May May's (Mandy's-see the label?) when she was at home.
Lets see....how many years has she been married?
Nevertheless it is empty now. So what do I do with it?
I made a Gift wrapping station with it.  Notice the label has changed from "Mandy" to "Gift wrapping Station".
I like this.  I really do.
Progress.
This is my pile for the "Sparta Hilton".  Every time I go I take a little more. Also in the totes are clean towels and sheets.
See the little green ice chest?  I just bought it from my daughter today at the yard sale.
I like the size of it.  See the striped bag?  It is a stacking container that keeps food hot
and the little red container keeps food cold.  See that little thing sticking up out of the back of the tote?
That is a flag pole and American flag for the "Sparta Hilton".
See it is all needed stuff.
Doesn't the Sparta pile look neater now?
I have organized it all in totes and stacked it up.
Progress.
Oh my goodness!  I love ebay but ebay is messy!
This is just a little part of my shipping supplies.
I am moving most of it out to my garage.
I am so over it.
Look better?  I think so.
I also put these shelves inside a closet
so the doors can be closed when I am not using it.
Progress.
Empty containers is progress for sure.
When I empty a container, my rule is to get it out of the house so I don't fill it back up.
Remember I am a piler.
I have actually emptied a whole shelf in the basement kitchen.
Progress.
Well most of the piles I showed you above were in this room.
My office.
How does it look now?
Progress huh?
Well I have to tell you that over in the left hand corner that you cannot see is several totes with pictures in them and my scrapbooking bags.  I am not sure what to do with them yet.  But it is getting there.
"Sweet Hunter" has not even went downstairs to see it yet.
His office stays immaculate all the time.
He can't understand why I can't keep mine like that either.
I am a piler. What can I say?
I have to tell you that my upstairs which is our main living area is cleared out and decluttered.  Even if it needs dusting and mopping it still looks clean because I have got rid of the "stuff".
I am so over it.  I want to be a filer not a piler.
Progress.
Well I worked really hard on my basement.
I made a lot of progress so I thought that
I would reward myself with a lavender bubble bath.
Yes, I love this!
Progress.

Sewing Nook

Since I had to move my sewing area in my bedroom, I have not been exactly satisfied with it until today. It seemed as though my bedroom looked so messy because of all of my stuff. After blessing my house today (cleaning per flylady), I decided that I was not going to do any decluttering or deep cleaning today. I usually try to do a 15 minute decluttering drill but my shoulder has been hurting some and I thought I would just skip that today. Well, that didn't happen. I finally SAW in my minds eye how I wanted to fix my little sewing area. So I set my 15 minute timer and away I went! It is like a race with me. I knew exactly what I wanted---finally! I did it and I am so happy. I love it. The picture would have looked better if I had closed the entertainment center but I didn't think about it. Tomorrow my 15 minute drill will be to get rid of some of the cords that are showing and organize just a little more. I would love to label everything so I could find it easier but that will take a while. Right now, I am happy with it. I also got the binding pinned on my second quilt tonight so all I need to do now is sew it on and it will be finished. Oh yes, I almost forgot....it snowed today. It was beautiful. I snapped a couple of pictures, but it doesn't do it justice. We are suppose to get a little more tomorrow. I would love it. If you would like to see more of what I did today, make sure and check out my Cooking & More Blog!

I recieved an award from my sweet blogging friend, Darla several days ago. I am just now getting around to doing this. The award is called "Honest Scrap." I am suppose to link to seven other blogs that I would like to pass this award on to but if you read this blog and want to play, then you get the award. I also am suppose to list 10 honest things about me so here goes:
1. I am a procrastinater.
2. I am constantly organizing. ( I take that after my Mom )
3. I can do almost anything if someone shows me how.
4. I love my "me time."
5. I try to fight that worrying spirit. ( I take that after my Mom too)
6. I am addicted to blogging, sewing, & gardening.
7. I don't like talking on the phone. (my BFF, Vicki is laughing her head off right now).
8. I don't like to commit.
9. I am trying to learn to say no.
10. I love to have a cold coke first thing in the morning. (preferrably brought to me in bed by my "sweet honey."
Thanks Darla for thinking of me!

Today Was Work Day In The Garage With My "Sweet Honey"

We have a separate garage that has everything in it! It has our Corvette in it all covered up with a car cover. It has an extra refrigerator in it. I have 3, do you think that is enough? It has my freezer out there. It has a little bit of everything. We remodel houses, so everything we need when we do that, is in there. I can't begin to name it all. Anyway, we reorganized it today. I was hoping that we would get rid of some of it, but my "sweet honey" has turned into the way I used to be. Here is an example of our conversation:

Me: Hey honey, have you used this in a while?

Hubby: No, but I have been looking for that!

Me: Honey, this looks tore up.

Hubby: I know. I have been meaning to fix it.

Me: Can we throw it away?

Hubby: No, one day I will get to it.

Me: What is this?

Hubby: I don't know, but put it over here. It probably goes with something.

Me: Is there anything in here that we can do away with?

Hubby: No way, we might need it someday!
And on and on and on.
We did get rid of 5 things, but they were mine! I wouldn't want to show you the before pictures, but I will show you the after pictures. It doesn't look too neat, but it is a lot better than it was. I would hate for my "Sweet Honey" to come in to my sewing room and try to make me get rid of stuff, so I understand completely. I just love this man! He makes my life complete!

Organizing On A Rainy Day

I have been organizing! Isn't that one of my goals? I started with my cabinets, and then went to my bakers rack in my pantry and ended up organizing my fabric! Wonder why I always end up in my sewing room? It was a rainy day yesterday. I love being home when it rains. I stepped out on my deck and took a couple of pictures of the rain and thanked the Lord we were getting it. "I really enjoyed organizing on this beautiful rainy day. Yesterday was a good day.
