Isn't She Lovely?

"Sweet Teen" was one of the girls picked
to be on the Snowball Court at her school.
How do you like her shoes??
(smile)

Isn't there a song called..."Isn't she lovely"?

"Sweet Teen" is our oldest grandaughter and we are so proud of her.

Look at these gorgeous flowers that her date had for her.

There is no doubt that he had the most beautiful date!!!
(We can say that...we are her grandparents.)

Aren't they so cute?

Isn't she lovely?
Isn't she wonderful?
Isn't she pretty?
Isn't she precious?
..............humming this song- can't remember all the words but..........
perfect words.....lovely, wonderful, pretty, precious......BLESSED.

WE LOVE YOU "SWEET TEEN!!"

Perfect love sometimes does not
come until the first grandchild.

Crocheting Class & Update

Just wanted to share some pics of my crocheting class last week.
I love this blanket that this lady is making.

This is a picture of the pattern she is using.
Isn't it beautiful?

My high school friend, Teresa just started this baby blanket.
Oh I love it too.
She shared the pattern with me.
May May has about 3 weeks to go
so I better hurry if I am going to make this one!

One of the ladies in the class just made this sweater!
She is showing us the scarf that she is making to match it.
I could not imagine making this!
The picture does not do it justice.

Remember this from my last post?
She is coming right along!

Polly, our crochet teacher is trying to make a sweater!
We won't leave her alone so she can work on it too much in the class.
We are lined up with questions and needing help.
Isn't this going to be beautiful though?

This is a baby blanket that Maryanne is making.
The whole thing is basically a chain stitch except for the border
and this edging she has started.
I LOVE it!
The edging is a Picot stitch!

Each month there is a theme at the Senior Center
and they have different displays out in the lobby.
This blanket is knitted.
I want to learn to knit too!

Look at all these old cameras!!

I loved those tap shoes!

Just wanted to give you all an update on "Sweet Teen"!
She is doing a lot better than I would be.
She hasn't missed any school even the day after she broke her leg.
I think she likes riding this scooter in Walmart!

She went to see the surgeon last week and he looked at the Xrays and
came in and told her that instead of 2 breaks--she has 3 broken bones!!
As of right now she doesn't have to have surgery but he said she had to be
very careful. They put this hard cast on but will have to change it
next week as the swelling goes down!!!
******
And do you remember my friend, J that was so sick?
She actually came to church on Wed. night and gave an awesome testimony!
Please continue to pray for her.
********
Also my friend, Gayle....her mother had a stroke last week and is need of our prayers.
Thank you all.

TODAY I AM THANKFUL FOR.........contentment.

Where Should I Start?

Where should I start?
It has been a wild week!
We found out that we have some medical issues
that we are dealing with and decisions to be made.
Thank you for your prayers.

I woke up yesterday morning and did what I always do.
I get me a coke and sit down with my computer
to check emails and facebook. When I turned my computer on
my family calendar from Flylady popped up and let me know that
it was OUR 33RD ANNIVERSARY!!!!
I knew the date-just been through a lot the last few weeks.
"Sweet Hunter" was getting ready for work and I realized
that he didn't know it either so when I told him
"Happy Anniversary" he felt so bad that he had forgotten.
But it made him feel a lot better when he realized that I had forgot too!
It was hilarious!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO US!
(smile)
And then on top of all of that........my internet went out.
I found out later on that my modem had died.
What more can possibly happen????

Sweet Hunter wanted to take me out to
"wine and dine" me
(for the anniversary that we both forgot)
  but before we went,
we stopped by to see "Sweet Teen" play ball!

She was coming around to home base when she had to slide.
Then all of the sudden everyone realized that she was hurt.
I knew that she was in pain because I saw her shaking.
The coaches and trainers took her in and put ice on her leg and
wrapped it.  They didn't really think it was broke but thought
she had turned her ankle.

This is how she came out.
On crutches and in pain.
They took her to get an Xray to find out
that her leg is broke.
They think it is broke in 2 different places.
Bless her little heart!

There was really nothing that we could do so we went on
for our anniversary dinner!
The anniversary that we both forgot!!!
(giggle)
Spinach Artichoke Dip
Yum!

"Sweet Hunter" took me to my favorite place
in the whole world to eat.
Houston's in Atlanta Ga.
This is my favorite salad ever!
Traditional Salad with Honey Lime Vinaigrette with peanut sauce.
Oh my goodness!

This picture does not do this steak justice.
Very seldom do we order a steak but when we
got to the restaurant we smelled a heavenly smell and
just had to have one.
Hawaiian Rib eye Steak

Then we head on to "our little hilton"!
When "Sweet Hunter" unlocked the gate he saw this!
He held it up and said, "We have had visitors!"
I said what? He said that is the stake to our horseshoes game.
I said, "What would it be doing out here?"

He looked around to see if anything was missing or messed up
only to find the lid on this wooden box open
but there wasn't much in there so we didn't notice anything gone
except my horseshoe stake.
Weird, huh?

Then he noticed that this tarp was off the back of the golf cart
and he knew that he left it all strapped down.
He looked at our little Geo Tracker and saw it was still covered
with the car cover and we assumed it was okay.

That is until he took the cover off the car and found this!!!

They must have used my horseshoe stake to knock the window out.
Nothing is missing that we know of but this makes us so mad!
I don't understand people that want to destroy others things.

"Sweet Hunter" called the sheriff and filed a report.
We know it could be a lot worse but this has been a wild week for us!!!
I keep saying "This is a test, this is a test.......
Please keep "Sweet Hunter" & "Sweet Teen" in your prayers.
That is really all that is important to me.
Things are nothing.
Hope next week is better!!!
Have a great labor day weekend!
We are planning to.

TODAY WE ARE THANKFUL FOR.........33 years together!
(actually yesterday) lol

Sweet Teen's Chicken Scratch & Sewing

One day "Sweet Teen" wanted to learn chicken scratch.
Since I am just a beginner myself it thrilled me that she wanted to learn from me!

Here she is working all on her own.

She did 2 projects in one afternoon.
I love it when my Grands ask me to teach them things.

This is her first project that she finished.

Excuse the marks on it.
We forgot to rinse them off!!!
Isn't it pretty though?
(even with those marks)!

She picked this one out of the book to do.
She loves kitty's!

Since I took this picture of this finished project
she has added some white filling stitches.
It is just beautiful.

Remember a couple of months ago when
Sweet Teen had a school project and
we made some pajama pants?

Here they are all finished!
She finished them herself.
And look at this!!! She made her own pattern!
She was going to get a tank top and applique a
butterfly or heart on the front but her teacher
wanted something that she had sewn herself.

I was so impressed that she did that top all on her own!

Do you think I am a proud Gran???
I am!
We have 4 and one on the way!
TODAY I AM THANKFUL FOR.......Grands that love me!

A Hundred years From Now

...it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove...but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a CHILD!

Sewing With Sweet Teen

Sweet Teen had a school project in her design class to do so
she picked a beautiful sun dress pattern.
She brought the pattern over for me to help her so we started cutting it
out and talking.  I realized that there were about 20 pattern pieces to cut out.
Then I got to looking at the pattern and realized how hard it looked. I asked her
how long she had to make it and she said a few days.
So I asked her if it had to be a dress.  She said no.
I want her to make the dress but I don't want her to feel pressured &
get discouraged so I thought it would be easier and more encouraging
to make something easier.

So we started thinking about what we could do.
Then we thought of pajama pants!
I thought that would be easy.
I didn't have a pattern so I  just made one and she was sewing them together
before I knew it.

Her Mom, my daughter, "Trouble" came over and before I knew it
she was cleaning while we were sewing.  She had my dishes washed
before I could blink an eye.

Then she folded clothes and made my bed!
Yes, my bed had not been made that day!
I had actually worked all day and then helped Sweet Teen
so having someone pick up the house and make my bed was a blessing.
Thank you "Trouble"!

"Sweet Teen" accomplished a lot that night. She got everything done
except the elastic and the hem.
She is going to finish it in her class at school.
She had the cutest idea. She is going to buy a black tank top and
applique a heart on it with the fabric that she used for the pajama pants.
So cute!

Then she got in her new little car and left!
We had  a lot of fun and we are planning on making that dress this summer!
I just know how I am. I love seeing something accomplished quick.
Otherwise I get discouraged.
So now we have plenty of time to work on that beautiful sun dress!

Today I am thankful for.......a granddaughter who loves to sew!
