Pictures Tell The Story!

The day started out great. There were gifts in the mail from Angie! She crocheted a dish cloth for me and also sent the cutest recipe cards and a pin cushion that is just the cutest thing! Then she topped it off with an Easter card and sweet note.
Thank you Angie! Go visit her blog. It is wonderful!

Then I finished the binding on my first little baby quilt!

This is not perfect but I am still proud of it.

This is the back. It looks crooked but that ok.
I didn't notice it until this picture. I am giving myself permission
to make mistakes so I can learn.

It is just made out of strips and then I tried the free motion quilting which I loved! It was fun.

I wanted to get the binding done because I wanted to take it to show my "Sweet Mom" .
I was meeting her for a little outing to the quilt store. I worked hard and got it finished and then forgot to take it! I should have known then that my day was not going to be so good. Ha!

I bought some more black & white fabric and a little surprise for a friend and then they gave me the Feb. Saturday Sampler Quilt block so I could re-do it since I messed it up. I just love this quilt store. They even have a blog. Go and visit - Lavender Lime Quilt Store

Then when I got back home my sweet daughter & I went to store to pick up a few things. As I was placing them in the trunk of her new car...........................

The trunk lid hit my head! HARD!
And so that is why I look so rough in this picture. I got very dizzy and sick and for sure had a very sore head and a big knot! We decided we better go get it checked out. So my day ended in the emergency room. Thank you to my "Sweet daughter," Maranda, for taking care of me. Have you ever heard that song......"Here's your sign?" Well, that is how I felt. They did a CT scan and everything looked fine. They told my family to wake me up every hour and check on me for 24 hours but I am fine! I have to say though.....I am pretty tired from my "Sweet honey" waking me up all night! Ha!

Ouch!
Hope today is a better day!
It makes you thankful for the normal days!
Off to sew now..............

P.S. "Sweet Daughter" is learning. She looked at me while sitting in ER and said, "Mom, too bad you don't have your camera?" I said," me, no camera?- of course I do!" She said, "this is a great blogging moment!" So that is how this picture was taken. Ha! You sure can't miss those "blogging moments!"

My Poor Little Quilt Block

January Block

Feb. Block
( This is the problem block!)

March Block

Oh no!

I see another problem, but I can fix this one quickly!

Do you see it?

Do you see the problem with the Feb. Block? Beautiful block, but way too small!!
How did I do this??

This is the quilt that my
Mom & I are working on with our favorite quilt store Lavender Lime. The first Saturday in the month we go and attend a little 15 minute class called the Saturday Sampler and we receive directions and fabric for a quilt block. At the end of the year we will have 12 blocks for a quilt. It is a lot of fun and we learn a lot. Remember in the last post that I was frustrated with the Feb. block and could not figure it out. I took my quilt block pieces to the quilt store and they helped me understand how to put it together. But as you can see on the last picture, there is a problem!!! Way too small!!! Thank goodness the quilt store has already told me that they will give me some more fabric to redo this block. I thought I would show you all of them so far. I just finished this months block that we received yesterday. So once I get more fabric for the Feb. block I will re-do and this time I will do it right.....I HOPE!

Frustated And Then Here Comes FRED.....

My new rulers that I don't know how to use!

I was working on block 2 from the Saturday sampler from my favorite quilt store Lavender Lime. Last month I purchased a new ruler set called the Tri-Recs Tools by Darlene Zimmerman & Joy Hoffman. I needed it to do this Feb. block. I am trying to get these blocks done before the next Sat. sampler. Needless to say, I waited until the night before to try it. I got so frustrated. It just doesn't look right. It looks like my center block is just to small. Anyway, so I decided to quit for the night.

Doesn't the center block look too small or are the other pieces too big? Who Knows? I sure don't.
I have measured and measured.
I will take it tomorrow and have them look at it at the quilt store.
They are wonderful to help.

I was really frustrated and then I heard my "sweet daughter," Maranda calling me and telling me to hurry. Being the blogger that I am I had camera in hand and this is what I saw......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Meet FRED

FRED SAYING...
DUH, WHAT ARE YOU ALL LOOKING AT????

My "Sweet honey" has been telling me that every night there are possums on my picnic table on my deck. (yuk) Anyway, Maranda & Lane were cleaning the kitchen and took some table scraps outside and found him. He just stood there. He wasn't scared at all. Isn't he ugly? Lane got so close to him to take these pictures. Maranda named him Fred. Needless to say, my frustration turned into laughing at this very ugly, dumb animal that was looking at us as if we were bothering him. He never moved. It was amazing. He just sat there looking at us. My "sweet honey" says that Fred has several friends!!!! OOOOOhhhhh! At least Fred made me forget about my frustration. Well, just thought I would introduce you to FRED!
