Special Time With My Mom & The Quilt Store

This is my beautiful Mom showing me her quilt blocks that her & her best friend worked on this past weekend.

You can read more here. Moms best friend cut all these blocks for her as a gift.
Here Mom Is showing me how she is going to embellish these blocks with buttons and ribbons.
They spent last weekend at my Moms house having a little quilt retreat of their own.
What would we do without "best friends"?

This is a quilt top using panels
that they showed us at the quilt store.

Look at this gorgeous table runner.

Another Quilt Top

Christmas already?

This is the quilt we are working towards at the Saturday Sampler.

This panel was hanging in the quilt store. Me & Mom really loved it.

It had some of our favorite verses on it. You may have to enlarge it to see it closer.

My Mom & I live about 30 minutes apart so we don't get together very often but when we do it is so much fun. We talk every night through Yahoo Messenger. We go to this quilt store once a month for the Saturday Sampler so this is our special time. We always start this day with breakfast at Panera Bread. I enjoy my time with Mom so much. I have so much going on and so many people that are dependant on me that this is like a little getaway with Mom. This is our second year doing this with the Quilt Store and I hope we have many many more special times. We both have "best friends" but we are "best friends" too!

Such a fun thing to do with your Mom. I love to go to the quilt shops and be inspired by all of their samples. And your Mom has a very sweet friend to make all those blocks for her :-)

It does sound like it was a wonderful time for both of you. She is such a charming blogger and I know she enjoyed the day as much as you did.

The quilt shop visit was the icing on the cake for the day. Lovely quilts!

I love that last panel "For I know the plans I have for you". Do you know what company made that? I would love to buy one.

What a lovely quilt your mom and her friend made! Love everything from the quilt store = and how nice to be able to share your passion with your mum. My mom and I live about 10 minutes apart, and see each other all the time - she doesn't quilt, she paints, but we appreciate art in any shape or form.

We always have such a fun day together when we go on our Saturday outing. Altho we only live 30 minutes apart, with me working full time and you working more than full time at home and in the garden, and keeping the grandchildren, and visiting Granny and all the things you do for your husband in his job, it is hard for us to get together more often.
The quilt panel that "This is Me" asked about is called "Seeds of Faith" by Leanne Anderson for Henry Glass & Co. I bought it and I can't wait to incorporate it into a wall hanging.

Oh what fun you and your Mom have at the Quilt Store. You have shared some lovely projects and I had read about her friend cutting out the pieces for her quilt and all the laughs and good times they had over that weekend. My mom and I were best friends too. I treasure all our special moments.

How fun! My mom is a 22 hour drive from here but I try to get home as frequently as I can -- we also enjoy our quilting time together.
