Perseverance

It was a beautiful day so after church we decided to take the boat out and go fishing in the Tennessee River.
As soon as we started out in the river the bottom fell out of the sky.
I have never saw so much rain.
We immediately put our rain suits on and headed for the bridge to wait the storm out.

We waited.
And waited.
And waited.
When we saw the lightening and heard the thunder we decided to tie the boat up at the dock and go to the truck and wait it out there instead of under the bridge.
This was one of the worst storms that I have ever seen. But we were determined that we were going fishing.
Well it was well worth it!

It wasn't our best day of fishing but it was fun.

We always try to look at things and see the lesson in them.
My sweet hubby said....Perseverance.
So when I got home I looked that word up.
Steady persistence in adhering a course of action, a belief, or a purpose; steadfastness.
I am telling you...we have way too much fun together!
As soon as the rain stopped and the sun was peeking through, this bird was ready to pounce on a fish! We watched him catch a whole lot more fish than we did!

Then on the way home we saw this.....
My sweet hubby had to stop and fill up at this price!
He said he never thought he would see gas for 2.39 ever again!

I hope you all have a great Memorial Day!

Did I ever tell you about the time I was out on the lake during a tornado? Quite exciting. A-hem. Glad you waited in the truck.
Nice fish!!!!!! And oh what a good price on gas - I thought $2.55 was good!

Looks like a wonderful day! We went motorcycle riding. It was almost 100*, but if we were moving it was very tolerable. We are supposed to get storms around midnight, and rain tomorrow.

Gas here went down to the lowest of $2.59.

Have a great Monday!

Great day...my memories as a child watching my father and brother fishing, were always rainy days...probably because we were usually in Wales or Scotland. You look well kitted out for it though and the fish look great too!

While I loved your boat and fishing photos, I am amazed at the price of that gasoline!!!

Well I am glad you decided to wait in the truck while the lightening and thunder was going on. Your fish looks like it might have been a little bigger than Randy's.

You look like you had a great time. 2.39 a gallon! I'm almost tempted to drive down and get me some but I'm afraid it would cost way to much money in gas to get me there. :^) Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
