One Phone Call

A couple of weeks ago our preacher said something that really stuck with me.
He said that ONE phone call can change your whole life.
I remember thinking how true that was, but I didn't realize that I would experience it.

I was having a very stressful day dealing with what I thought was
"important stuff".  I was talking to my daughter and we were both comparing
our  stressful days when my phone beeped. I noticed it was my Mom calling.
I thought to myself that it was an odd time for her to be calling so I
quickly got off the other line and answered her phone call.

A couple of weeks ago she had a minor surgery on her eyelid.
They had told her this was very common and there was nothing to worry about.
BUT then several days later.....
 Mom received the"ONE PHONE CALL"
and they told her that it was cancer.

Then I received my "ONE PHONE CALL" from Mom
to tell me. She was shocked. We were shocked.
Thank the Lord that it is not the worse kind
but anytime you hear cancer it is scary.

So my preacher was right...ONE PHONE CALL can change your life.
She goes Tuesday to find out what is next.
PLEASE PRAY FOR MY MOM!
************************
UPdate on Mom:
She will be having surgery on Monday.
Please keep her in your prayers.
Tonight our Preacher preached on these verses.
2 Corinthians 12: 9,10
(Paul had prayed 3 times for the thorn in his flesh to be removed).
And he said unto me,
My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.
(when Paul heard this he said...)
Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak HE is strong.

I certainly will pray for your mom. Cancer is scary. We also received the one phone call a few months ago, that my 29 year old granddaughter had breast cancer. It is a life changing call. I will be reading your blog for updates. One thing I learned during this, is there are lots of praying bloggers.

Oh Val, your mom and you certainly have my prayers rising up. I hate the "c" word as my grandmother had it years ago and my sister just within the past year and a half. Your mom is ever so sweet and the Lord will guide every step of the way. I'm praying for a full-blown miracle of her. I'm finding it hard to get around these days due to everything going here, but please keep me posted if you can.

You are a treasure Val and so is your precious mother. Again, my prayers are rising UP UP UP on her behalf.

Love you,
Alleluiabelle
