My First Quilt Class

My Mom, Alice Grace & I started our quilt class last night. It is amazing the little tips that we learned the very first night. We never expected to actually get a block done but we did!
Lavender Lime Quilt Shop is where we are taking Quilting 101. They teach the basics of quilting and we will have a small quilt or wall hanging when we get through with the class. We are also doing a Quilt a long with Amanda Jean over at crazymomquilts.blogspot.com. This class will help us in doing this quilt also. We have 4 more classes to go. We are so excited and had so much fun! I could hardly sleep last night thinking of everything! I THINK I HAVE THE QUILTING FEVER!

Go to My Mom's Blog to see a closer picture of her quilt block!

Don't forget to check out My Cooking Blog!

What fun we had! I learned so very much just in the first class! It makes me more excited about finishing my blocks on Crazy Mom's quilts, and hope to have those finished within a week!

I left a comment on your mom's blog that quilting is addictive and to be prepared. What a pretty block; it looks harder than a 101 class so congrats. I can just picture a Proverbs 31 woman happily quilting away, can't you? It's a wholesome hobby and pasttime.

Hi! So glad you stopped by, I have been away but now am back and getting caught up on things. As you can see the computer was first even before unpacking! lol! Your class sounds wonderful! I remember my first block that I made and I was so excited just like you. It is addictive but what better thing to be addicted to then making quilts for family and friends!! :o) In a future post I think I will put in some of my quilts as I haven't done that for a year or so and I have many of you newer readers that I would like to share them with. Most of them I have given away but I do have a few left around here. I am so glad you are taking the classes, it is such a wonderful pasttime. Come back soon!!

Sounds like you are on your way to be hooked on quilting. And, yes we do plan and design many quilts when we are trying to get to sleep and even after we sleep. Sometimes I've awakened with the answer to a quilting problem I had when I went to sleep!! Have fun. Lois

I am so sorry for you, with 'the bug'. Never mind, it'll open your eyes to colour and pattern in the world, give you a greater love of art and crafts and a whole lot of great new friends! Welcome!

Thanks for stopping by Valerie. I hope you drop in often. Let me know if I can be of any help. It's very, very, addictive and the other addicts are so wonderful to be with. I really like the heart block!

Oh, look at how cute you gals are! I love quilts but have never taken a class. I believe I basically taught myself how to piece, at the feet of my mother, of course! Darling blocks. *B

Hi Valerie,
Thanks for stopping in to visit.
Although I'm not a quilter, I treasure the ones my late Grandma made!
I've just spent some delightful time looking around your blog. I'd love to come back and visit again and hope you'll stop back by and visit me again!
hugs!

I've been feeling the quilting bug coming on for some time now. All these wonderful ideas keep "popping" into my imagination ... but seeing you and your mother actually sewing, I simply must get down to business and begin!
Thanks for the inspiration!

I can hardly wait to see the finished product!

Blessings, Lea
