Quilting Class 101 Homework

Just sewing right along......
Happy on my journey........

Even doing the chain sewing.......... I was so proud!
Then.....as I was ironing the perfect STAR and talking to my mom on the phone, I realized I had a perfect T!

So I started ripping seams.......
I finally got it done though!
Here are the 4 blocks I have done so far for our Quilting class!

2 Posts in one day......I couldn't help myself!

Our homework this week from our quilting class was to put this star together. I thought I was really doing good. My mom was at her house doing hers also. I called to see how she was doing on hers and she was frustrated and ripping out seams. Anyway, I was feeling sorry for her and telling her how to do it. (Like I knew what I was doing). While I was talking to her about how to fix hers, I was ironing my perfect star...........Then I discovered my "STAR" was a "T"! It was hilarious! I laughed so hard at myself. Anyway the pictures tell the story! But I finally did it!
My Mom's seam ripper is blogging......Go check it out!

I know how you felt. Been there, done that!! Probably everyone has done that sometime or other. It is usually about midnight when I do stupid things so I just turn off the sewing machine. I don't dare rip until morning figuring I'd probably poke a hole. Your blocks are beautiful.

I had a good laugh on this one. If only you could have seen what I did to mine! I ripped many times over, but finally got it done!

isn't it funny how you can just be working right along and then something like that happens? good job fixing it! love the colors in your blocks...=)

Good for you for the finished perfect star. And the T-block - well, you just designed your own new look that you might want to use someday - you never know, right? It can be frustrating though. At quilt retreat once a fellow retreat buddy was trying to make star blocks and I think she ripped them out many times and she is a very experienced piecemaker...it happens to all of us! Happy stitching!

Oh I'm so happy to hear you laughed. Since it's a regular occurence that attitude puts us ahead of the game.

I just removed an entire border from what I THOUGHT was a finished Quilt Top. It wasn't. It was an incorrectly applied border that couldn't Be.

I sort of sighed and smiled at my large mishap.

Your blocks are BEAUTIFUL by the way. Excellent!

I hate to tell you how many times I have sewn my pieces together wrong. Perhaps that is why they have invented seam rippers!!! The star looks incredible now though. I also like the heart one. Great colors.

Great job! That is the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. You could tell you had taken such care to get it right, and then it was a T....hahahahaha It looks like patience won though, The star ended up being beautiful
