I was actually showing her how to lay a quilt out to get it ready to quilt.....
Like I even knew what I was doing!
Smile.

We were down at the clubhouse at Loreley in Helen, Ga.
The guys had gone fishing so we were quilting.

This took a lot of safety pins!
Vicki says, "Are my knees suppose to hurt like this"?
I said, "I think so"! We are Lucy & Ethyl!

Vicki asked me was her knees suppose to hurt like that!!!

She said it already felt like a quilt!
Wonder when she will finish it?

Yes, we quilted on vacation! I worked on my quilt top that I am doing with Amanda Jean's Quilt along! I only have a little more work to get it done. I also did quilt block #1 on her new quilt along. I think I need to go on vacation again, so I can sew. Several people laughed when I told them I was taking my sewing machine on vacation with me but I enjoyed it so much. It makes me smile. I feel proud. I feel peace. I feel joy.
The other pictures are my best friend Vicki's quilt. It is all hand done. I asked her to bring it on our trip and I would help her get it basted so she could get to quilting on it. I learned to baste with safety pins in my quilt class that I took with My Mom! Vicki probably thought I really knew what I was doing. But a big quilt like that was a little harder than my wall hanging. We were pouring sweat. We had a very nice place to do it though. Our condos have a big clubhouse down on the river and it was great. We had a ball! You all would love Vicki! I am trying to talk her into doing a blog. She is so funny!

How very pretty I am so glad to see some one else quilting by hand ...
I've been wondering: where in the world to block and baste a quilt. I guess the floor was clean. I'm not sure mine would be.
I loved seeing you too on your knees. God bless your friendship. When I bought my new machine, I bought a bag that rolls just so I could transport it. My daughter says I'll need an armed escort if I ever take it out anywhere other than to the quiltshop. She's funny!

My daughter and husbands grandmother made a quilt last year. The bond they had is forever. Our town is the heart of Quilt City..Paducah Ky....we love it.
Your quilt is beautiful! I am not good at sewing but I admire those that do! Good job!
Hi Valerie - thanks for stopping over at my blog. I've enjoyed wandering around yours. I love your photo's. The quilt looks great. I've made quilted pillows and a few crib quilts but I don't think I have it in me to do a full size quilt!
Thank you for stopping by my blog. I was so pleased to have you visit. Please come again. I have enjoyed your post. I wish I would have listened when my Mom tried to teach me to quilt. Too bad. Thanks again. connie from Texas

What a fun vacation! I need to take a week of vacation so I can finish Amanda Jean's first quilt along (I never got past block 4!) and the other two quilts I have in progress!! :)
AWESOME and so much work
Lovely little blog you have here! Quilts and kids! My favorites!!
Thank you for stopping by! I shall be back! :D
Oh I just love to see these pictures of the quilts, the lake, time with family and friends, so precious isn't it?? Your quilt from crazymomquilts is awesome, I still haven't finished putting together mine, working on other projects.
I could probably do the quilting by hand easier than I could use the sewing machine. I still haven't figured it out! Way to Go Vicki! I think Vicki needs a blog too! I love the comments she leaves me!
Your big quilt brings back to my mind a lady that I met while living in Pampa TX. We all called her Granny. She had a quilters frame set up in her backroom. She quilted entirely by hand too! My grandmother and I used to go over and visit with her. I was probably 10. The 3 of us would sit in the living room, and embroider. She could do it all. I wish I had let her teach me how to quilt.
The colours on your quilt look really effective - it is always a great feeling when you get it basted and ready to quilt!
