Beautiful Block, but the star pattern just didn't show up good to me.
Here is how it looked with the others on my design board.
This is the new one. I think the star pattern shows up much better.
Block # 5 is on the far right. Doesn't it show up better?
I was not satisfied with the way Block 5 in the quilt along looked. The layout was good. I just didn't think the fabric showed the star as well as it should have, so I have redone it. I am happy with it now. I am trying to catch up. Now on to Block #6!!!

I agree...to much light color in the first one...so contrast.
I meant to say "no contrast". Perhaps I should read my comments some closer before sending them on their way.
You are right. Much better! Now take that first block and use it in a tote bag or pot holder, or something pretty to enjoy, because it is still pretty!
I like this one much better too and you are using my favorite color so I am really looking forward to seeing it all together. Very, very pretty!
I like this one too but as I am new at quilting I like all of them.
Hugs Mary.
Great job, as usual! You are about caught up! Love your colors!

Smart move, it made all the difference.
I like the new one better for that grouping also. You will find just the right spot for your first block too.
Looking much better. I also like the dress you made for your granddaughter. Enjoy your weekend.
Hi Valerie,
Thanks for visiting my blog...I hope you do give embroidery a try. It is a very satisfying project to 'take along'.
My thoughts on the Star blocks...you should definately sash the blocks with a nice contrasting color to make them pop since it is hard to see them since the color values of the blocks are similar.
Ok that's my 2 cents!
Hi Valerie, Thank you for visiting my blog. I love your blog. I think your quilt along blocks are looking so good. Good call on #5 block, it looks more like a star now. :o) Have a great day.
Thanks for visiting, and yes you are right I love your star now looks so much better.
I like the change much better.

Yes, much improved! I'm doing my first BOM with my local fabric store, and they are all stars so far, so I expect the rest will be also. So many possible star variations - it is astounding! Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Nice job Valerie. Have fun making your next one!
