My Sewing Room Closet

I had to move my sewing room upstairs. My son has some medical problems with a shoulder and can't work, so he moved in our basement. I have been very undecided on where to put it. We have a big den and then another livingroom that we never use. We actually call it the "nobodys room." So I thought about there, but it is a beautiful room and the grandkids love to watch television and play games in there when PawPaw is watching hunting or a football game in the other room. I also didn't want to clutter the room. So I have pondered on this problem for a while. Then it hit me! The closet door in my bedroom is having to be replaced so right now there is no closet door on it. We haven't decided exactly what we were going to do with it. We thought about having an entertainment center built, but are not ready to spend 2000.00 for that. Anyway, it just hit me......A sewing room closet! I am so excited. I even got to hang up my design wall that my "Sweet Mom" made for me! I also had a little white desk that I put there for my paper work and for when I sell on ebay. There are 2 shelves high in the closet that will hold all of my stash and extra fabric. I also have a wonderful craft table that folds up small and opens out to be a large table when needed. It has a lot of storage in it. This is where I do most of my cutting. Where did I put it???.......at the end of my bed. I am so excited. It is not a huge room, but I have everything fixed so I can sew whenever I want and it will stay neat and organized. This is just temporary, but I think that I am going to love it!

That might work out quite nice. Looks cozy and I love cozy. Our is not and I'm working on that. We have soo many big windows it stays bright all the time. Bright is good, but sometimes you want snuggly!

What a terrific idea. I have a very small "quiet/quilting" room and using the closet like you have would add a lot of room.

Thank you for sharing the idea and the pictures.

Best regards from a first time visitor.

Aaaahhh....that looks way too organized for a sewing room. I wouldn't want to mess it up. It does sound like the perfect solution. I hope that your son's shoulder gets better soon though.

See? There is an answer to all questions. I hope your son is on the mend and able to be independent again soon. Meanwhile, you can enjoy his being close for a while and have your sewing space too. Great solution.
