Look What All I Did Today!

I found this little childs rocking chair at the thrift store.
It was in great condition and I just spruced it up a little.
Check out that cane bottom seat!

I bought this old end table at Salvation Army for $8.00 about a year ago. It has been in the garage. I forgot to take a picture before I started priming it.

Primed and ready to paint

The "little" red table on the left is what I am trying to match this up to.
When I painted the "little" table a while back, I just wasn't happy with it. I wanted it to look more primitive. Then I discovered Briwax through Janene's Blog! Once I got the little one like I wanted, I started on the big one. Look how red it looks compared to the little one. I had to put 3 coats of the red on it. Then after it dried I put the Briwax on it. I love this stuff. Thanks Janene!

This is the finished table.
It matches perfectly.
I love it.

This is the rocking chair that my mother rocked her babies in.
It was so dried out and faded so what do you think I did today?
I used the Briwax on it and then I buffed it with steel wool.

This is the rocker when I finished it.

Who in the world could be bored at home? There is always something to do. I evidently was in the painting mood today. It amazes me how you can just do a little painting or staining and it is just like you have a new piece of furniture. I am so proud of what I got done today. I also touched up some paint in my bedroom. I have been meaning to do that for a long time. Now I am looking around at everything to see what I can spruce up. The rocking chair that my mother gave me is my favorite. I don't know if you can tell but it is almost a walnut color now. It is so pretty. I had a ball doing all of this!

Just so you know, I am coveting your red table. I've never heard of Bri-wax but may have to try it.

I like the red table that you just painted. And I liked it in white with the primer coat. The rocker turned to new looing after you used the Bri-Wax. Amazing.
I don't get bored either being at home, I always have plenty to keep me busy. Now sometimes I get lazy...but never bored ;D

Wow! You were right! What a difference the wax makes.
I am so glad that you like it! I am hooked on it too! I think I use it on every single thing I redo!
What does you family think? Can they tell a difference?
And thank you for the shout out...link up anytime!

Good job, honey! I would not have recognized that rocker! Many hours of rocking my 3 babies in it makes it special. I am glad you appreciate it.
