You Just Never Know What Tomorrow May Bring

This is Vicki visiting me last week.

This is Vicki 2 days later, so sick in the hospital.
I promised her I would NOT take a picture of her.
Do you think this counts since you can't see her?
Beverly, Vicki's sister

Vicki's sweet daddy

Vicki's sweet Mother in law

This is Vicki and her sister holding hands.
Isn't that so sweet?

Last week my best friend, Vicki was visiting me and my new grandbaby. She looked great, felt good and was so happy. Two days later she was in the hospital very sick. I have been trying to stay with her to help her husband out so he could get some rest. She had surgery today and hopefully is on her way to feeling much better. I have been doing a lot of crocheting while sitting up at the hospital. Her whole family is so sweet. She has several nieces that are so sweet. I just love them. I don't know why I didn't get a picture of them. There is just something about them. I connected with them the first time I ever met them many years ago. When we see each other (which is mostly at hospitals or funerals -sad to say) it is just like we have seen each other every day. I just love them to death. Then there is Vicki's sister, Beverly. She is just like a sister to me. I believe I could ask her for anything and she would move heaven and earth for me. Vicki's mother in law is a quiet woman who loves so deep that you can feel it when you are around her. Oh don't let me forget Vicki's dad. He is a character! He has the gift of talking. That man can talk more than any woman ever thought about. We all kid him about it but honestly this man has a heart of gold. He says that I am his adopted daughter. He is more than precious. Then there is Vicki's husband which I have known all my life. He is truly a Godly man. He loves his wife and you can see it. I have watched him during this ordeal and she is definately his first priority. They have been married almost 32 years and are still in love. There are many more family members that I have not mentioned but they all make me feel such a part of the family. As I sat at the hospital watching my loved one suffer all I could think about is that we never know what tomorrow will bring. Like I said before, one day she is at my house happy and healthy and 2 days later she is suffering in the hospital. She will be fine but it has been a scary thing for all of us. Nevertheless it ought to make all of us look at every day as a gift and be so thankful that we wake up in the mornings and see the light of another day. I know when I find myself complaining about everything that has to be done, I will think of how much Vicki would have loved to have been home working at her house or even at her job instead of being helpless at the hospital. I have learned a great lesson in this though. You just never know what tomorrow will bring so I want to be thankful for every day. Please pray for my best friend, Vicki and her sweet family.

Dear Valeri,

I certainly will be praying for your friend Vicki. I have learned early in time that we never know what tomorrow will bring. Yes, be thankful for the gift of today. My husband and I have had to live our lives like that, since Dec. 2006 when he had open-heart surgery at the age of 49. He had the sharpest memory, but during the surgery a brain injury occurred and his short-term and long-term memory are not good. Our lives totally changed in a matter of hours.

Be thankful to the Lord for the precious gift of life that we have and be thankful to Him for the gift of today. Be thankful to Him for everything.

Thank you for sharing so much about your dear friends, and again, I will be praying for a rapid recovery for her.

Hugs & Prayers,
Alleluiabelle

Prayers from Ohio for your good friend, Vicki. Yes, the older I get the more I realize just how precious each day really is. I try to live it that way, but sometimes I don't succeed.
With loving family and loving friends like you, Vicki will heal quickly.
Take care.

I will pray for Vicki, and her family. My mom and I were talking about the same thing early today. You never know what tomorrow will bring. My brother's first wife and the mother of his children is in the hospital there in Dalton. The doctors have given up hope, but we know the God we serve. Please pray for her and their children.

I will certainly pray for your friend. I know how scary sudden illness is. My mother fell ill a year ago last October and spent a week in ICU before she finally began to recover from complications caused by kidney stones. I loved the post about your granny. Tell her to keep quilting!! The oldest member in our crazy quilting group is Lois who is 94. She sews all the time! She can't stay for our entire meeting time anymore as she gets too tired but she tries never to miss. It makes her "tick" to be able to sew and visit family and friends.
