A Good Day With My Mom At The Quilt Store

Have you been keeping up with Mom's
plant, "Victoria"? Well I went to pick her up to go to the quilt store today and I could not believe how big and beautiful the plant was. I have been leaving my Mom comments on her blog and kidding her about why I don't have a plant like this. Anyway, when I got to her house today she told me that Victoria is mine!!! Yay!!! I am so excited. I didn't take her today because I felt like she is so fragile with those big beautiful blooms. It was so cold and windy and she has 2 more buds that are about to bloom. Isn't my Mom the sweetest thing???

The first Saturday of every month we go to our favorite quilt store and attend the Saturday Sampler. We receive the fabric to make a different block every month and at the end of the year we have 12 blocks to make a quilt with. The picture above is the block we are making this month.

This is a picture of a quilt that was made with the block we are making this month. Every block in this quilt is the same. This shows us how different the block can look using different fabric and making a whole quilt with just one block.

I fell in love with this baby quilt! I hope one day to be good enough to attempt something like this. Isn't it darling??
I always try to take pictures of different things so you will feel like you are walking around with me at the quilt store.

Lavender Lime is our favorite quilt store.
They always have new things to see.
Here is their Funky Monkey fabric. It is so cute.
They have a Christmas corner. I love to look at it anytime of the year!

Here is the link to their store if you would like to see more.

The store is located in Chattanooga, Tenn.
The people that own the store are the nicest people you will ever meet.
If you are ever in the area, you need to stop by there.

My Mom & I had a great day today. This is one of my favorite days of the month.
Shhhhhh!
Don't tell Mom that I am telling you this
but Tuesday, Feb. 9th is her birthday!!!

How fun - a quilty day with mum and a beautiful plant! I'm glad you left it with her if it's cold, I can't imagine transporting it under IDEAL conditions, lol.
Thanks for taking us with you today, Val, looks like a great store!

Those quilts are so pretty. Your mom is also so pretty. It was really sweet of her to give you her flower!

That baby quilt is adorable. I have been wanting to make the "bug jars" quilt for my boys. Similar concept as this baby bottle quilt.

What a fun day!

My dear Val,
You never know whose heart your words will touch? I always ask help from our Heavenly Father to let me help someone along. I believe that we are all out here together -straining toward the same goal just on different paths. And I have always believed that If we share love like Jesus did for us -that will help carry us through.
You can sure tell that you and your beautiful Mom and your talented Granny all fell from the same family Tree! And that is certainly a very special tree!
