Granny Has To Be Busy!

Granny still has a little cold and doesn't feel good but it doesn't stop her.
I asked her why she didn't rest and she said that she just could not sit and do nothing.
Quilting keeps her going and all of you bloggers buying Granny's quilts is what gives her hope.
She said she just can't wait to get up and get started everyday.
I think that she is like the energizer bunny!
She never stops! She has told me about her legs moving slower and slower lately.
But she says she gets up and quotes the verse Phil. 4:13.
She said that it is in her heart that she can do all things through Christ which strengthens her.
Now is she an example to us all or what????
Are these not the sweetest hands?

I just put this quilt on my sidebar for sale.
She finished this one yesterday.
It has her famous border on it.
I promise you that it is an original.
There will never be another one exactly like it.

Isn't it pretty? Isn't she a doll?
Look at that smile.
All of her quilts are just so warm and cozy feeling.
She has already started another one today.
She almost has the top completely done.
She told me today that she needs 4 more rows.
She measures her quilts by taking the tops into her bedroom and lays
it on top of her bed and that is where she figures how much more she needs.
That is also where she sandwiches it together with the backing and batting and with her 1 safety pin in hand she gets my daddy to help her roll it and get it back to the sewing machine to be quilted.
I never visit without just being in awe of her.
If Granny is not quilting, you will find her reading her Bible or doing word searches.
Here she is with my sweet cousin, Nancy.

Some of the words that Granny looks for she doesn't even know what they mean.
For example today she was looking for the word video. She doesn't even know what that is but she can find those words a lot better than I can. Nancy brought her an orange today. She had it already peeled and ready to eat. Granny loved that. Nancy is so good to Granny. She will do anything Granny needs and she doesn't even have to be asked. Can you tell that me & Nancy love our Granny?? Well, we do.

Every time I think I can't, I think of Granny and "her" verse. Yes she is amazing and I love her to pieces.

It's wonderful when our 'seniors' have something to look forward to each day. It makes their lives so much more fulfilling and meaningful. If only more of them would still participate in life the way Granny does, they would be much happier!!! Lovely post Val, always like reading a Granny Update!! xoxox

Probably one of the reasons that Granny keep going is that she doesn't know about videos and other stuff electronic those things are the thieves of time.
Bless you

She is barely keeping up with the demand. I am so glad everyone is buying her quilts.
I still have that package to mail her. I thought I had a box big enough but no luck. I'll have to try something else. Maybe just a padded envelope.
Thanks for sharing Granny with us.
I'm happy to know her cold is better.

I was just wondering if you guys have much snow and do you have to worry about Granny not having a way to keep warm if the electricity would go out?

What an amazing lady. It is wonderful that she is receiving the love and appreciation that she deserves. She makes me ashamed that I am not accomplishing more.
