Perseverance

It was a beautiful day so after church we decided to take the boat out and go fishing in the Tennessee River.
As soon as we started out in the river the bottom fell out of the sky.
I have never saw so much rain.
We immediately put our rain suits on and headed for the bridge to wait the storm out.

We waited.
And waited.
And waited.
When we saw the lightening and heard the thunder we decided to tie the boat up at the dock and go to the truck and wait it out there instead of under the bridge.
This was one of the worst storms that I have ever seen. But we were determined that we were going fishing.
Well it was well worth it!

It wasn't our best day of fishing but it was fun.

We always try to look at things and see the lesson in them.
My sweet hubby said....Perseverance.
So when I got home I looked that word up.
Steady persistence in adhering a course of action, a belief, or a purpose; steadfastness.
I am telling you...we have way too much fun together!
As soon as the rain stopped and the sun was peeking through, this bird was ready to pounce on a fish! We watched him catch a whole lot more fish than we did!

Then on the way home we saw this.....
My sweet hubby had to stop and fill up at this price!
He said he never thought he would see gas for 2.39 ever again!

I hope you all have a great Memorial Day!

Sure Honey!

Sweet Hubby: Wanna go fishing?
Me: Sure Honey.
Sweet Hubby: Look how big this river is.
Me: Look. There is a little dock I could fish from.
Sweet Hubby: I bet there are some big ones in here.
Me: Looks kind of rough to me.
Sweet Hubby: Look at those deep holes.

Me: Where you going honey?

Sweet Hubby: Just follow me.

Me: O.K.?

Sweet Hubby: Wrong place. Turn around.
Me: Looks awful snakey to me.
Sweet Hubby: O.K. Lets go over here. You go first.
Me: O.K. (Hey how did hubby get that camera?)

Sweet Hubby: Just climb over. Come on!

Oops!
Now you think this is staged for the picture but this is really actually me falling down.
Sweet hubby had the camera because he was carrying stuff for me as we went down this trail.
I went trout fishing a long time ago deep in the woods with hubby and I said that I would not do that again. How I got here, I just don't know! I found out a while back that there are 2 ways to trout fish. You can go deep in the woods with the snakes and bears or you can pull your car off and fish in a shallow stream. I like the shallow stream! We finally stopped and he caught a couple of good trout. I caught about 5 little succers! I think I like fishing from the boat better! It was so fun though!! I love our special trips.
Next time I say "sure honey"......I will make sure where we are going! Ha!

Bear With Me!

Is this not breathtaking?
I just loved this little mailbox.

Look what we found! I didn't have my glasses or camera in hand so the picture is not great. You should have saw me rambling around in my purse for camera and glasses while watching this bear. It was really hilarious.
She crossed the road right in front of us and jumped a guard rail.

We pulled off the road and I took this picture when I saw something hop! Look real close and you will see another little face in front of her.

Then look on the side of this tree! Theres another cub!
There were actually 3 cubs jumping and running in front of their mother.
We were headed to Blairsville Ga. and we cross a mountain called Fort Mountain. It is only about 30 minutes away from where we live. As we started up the mountain we saw the bear. Then when we pulled to the side we saw the 3 babies. Is that not the cutest???

Get it........Bear with me!!!

Thift Store Or Mom's House?

I found this quilt top at the thrift store. It is all hand done.

I only paid $5.50 for this! Would you do this for 5.50?
I wonder if the person who made it knows that it was put in a thrift store.
I wonder what she was thinking as she worked on this.

I found this picture at the thrift store too.
It has that verse on it that says:
"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee."
How true is that? The frame looks like barn wood.

My sweet Mom has been cleaning out and organizing. (she is neat as a pin). If you have not visited her blog go see what she is up to. She called me the other day and said that she had some things for me. I went to pick them up and I was so excited.
Is this not the cutest picture?

And here is another..............

And another!

Look at these gorgeous pillow cases from Moms house.

And these..............

And these were my favorites!

Cookie cutters from Mom's house! Oh I had so much fun going through all this stuff.
There is more from Moms house that I will show later on. I like thrift stores but I LOVE my Moms stuff!
Mom's stuff is treasures.
Thank you Mom!

Thanks to Vicki I now know the names of these plants.

This is Indian Pink.

Vicki & Eddie love natural plants.
They know everything there is to know about them. They have a great trail down in to their woods. They have a fire pit with chairs so they can enjoy family time.

This is Soloman's Seal.

I loved this bloom.

This is called Old Fashioned Columbine.

She said that they had just started on this one.

This is my favorite part of their yard.
I think it is beautiful.

This is a Oak Leaf Hydrangea.

Gerbera Daisy.

Lamium "Purple Dragon

This part of her garden is dedicated Vicki's mother who is in heaven.
Her mother loved frogs. The rose bush was also her mothers.
I thought this was so special.

I hope you have enjoyed our little walk. I sure did. Thanks Vicki & Eddie!
