Sweet Teen Has Done It Again

What can I say? I gave "Sweet Teen" a Sock Monkey Kit that I have had for years and never ever made it. What does she do? She makes it the day I gave it to her!
She spent the day with me yesterday. What do you think she wanted to do?
You are right. Sew. She brought squares that she had already cut out and ready to sew.
She was prepared.
Here she is laying this quilt out. She loves my Singer 401A and since I have another one now.....guess who is getting it? Yes, she will have it next week. She is very excited.

I remember when Granny was still with us and she would always ask me if I had finished a quilt. I would say no, Granny and she would look at me and say, "Why"? "Sweet Teen" definitely has Granny's genes. She is spending the weekend with her Aunt and she asked to borrow one of my portable machines to take with her. I just talked to them a little while ago and she has already started another quilt. I am so proud of her. She inspires me.

Sweet Teen is amazing. Glad she has a love for sewing. Hope she's keeping pictures of her quilts she makes. Just think how many she will make by the time she's your granny's age.

Hey Val....I think "Sweet Teen" takes after Granny and YOU! Ahhh....Grandaughters...aren't they something else. I love teaching my grandaughter anything she wants to know. It is so much fun for both of us.

I can see why you are so proud.

Valerie this is so wonderful...it's so great when you can pass down the things you love to your grandchildren - bless her little heart for taking the time to do these wonderful crafts..not many teens would even THINK of doing things like this.

Forgot to say - LOVE her sock monkey - I have a friend who used to make them all the time, she'd even make clothing for them. Maybe you can give sweet teen all your unfinished projects, lol!

It's no wonder you're so proud of her:-) I just love sock monkeys and in fact a couple of years ago I bought one from one of my blogging friends who makes them...it's sitting on one of my shelves in my faerie room, brings back so many childhood memories!! Sweet Teen did a fabulous job making that one and she seems to be quite a natural at making quilts. Indeed it's very good genes that she has:-) xoxo

How wonderful!!! You have so much to be proud of! My daughter is finishing up a GRANNY quilt! Yep, she was inspired by my spending her the pictures and info on Granny and she is completing her Granny quilt of squares just like Granny with white, red and orange squares. It may sound strange but looks really good! Cathy

Hi Valerie, I have enjoyed catching up on your blog. I took some time away from blogging and then came back with a new blog. Your granddaughter is precious and it's so nice to know that she loves to sew. I remember having a sock monkey! I know you all are suffering with the heat too. I just wonder what Aug. and Sept. will be like!
