Sweet Hunter is working and I am in the hotel room. I look around the room and get an idea. |
Is that cardboard on the back of that little notepad? So I cut 2 little squares out of them. |
Just so happens that I always carry a few necessary items in my bag. |
When I learned to make my first quilt, I was taught to make a cardboard template. And there was no such thing as a rotary cutter! |
So that is what I did in the hotel room. I improvised. |
I didn't even have a sewing machine but I had a needle and thread. |
What am I gonna do with it now that it is all sewed together? I have no idea but whatever it will be it will be all hand sewn when I finish it. |
And of course there is always some crocheting going on in the car and the hotel! There is just something about keeping my hands busy. TODAY I AM THANKFUL FOR........my hands. |

Oh AMEN - I must thank God for my hands too - Val, I love your little quilt, my very first quilt I made was all by hand, using a cardboard template. No such things as rotary cutters then! And dishcloths are my favorite thing to crochet, very satisfying to make something so pretty AND useful.
And thank you, dear girl, for linking to my auction - BIG BIG hugs from me to you!!!
I thought when I read your post title, "Now that's a personal question isn't it?" lol
You are amazing! I am always so proud of you!
Love

What a fun idea...I like the colors in your block, too!
I still make cardboard templates for some things I love the way you improvise. It's obvious you like to keep busy. Since you started showing your crocheted dishcloths I started making them again. I gave a dozen of them to the food pantry for their fund raiser auction. I hope to make another dozen for them before the auction.
That is so cool! I would have had my Nook and I would have been reading. Do you read?
Hope there is a Starbucks in the lobby!!!
Good use of time!
It looks like it could be another mug rug to me. :) blessings, marlene
Way to make good use of down time! I too, have trouble sitting still without something to keep my hands busy. Love your little quilt!
