Then Sweet Teen came home with me and I got busy on the baby quilt. |
I had so much fun spending the day with my Granddaughter. Just me & her. |
Sweet Teen is a great artist so when she spotted the paint and all the card making items that Becky had sent me she started working on an Easter card. |
She amazes me how she can draw and paint. She takes a design class at school and loves it. I think it just comes naturally to her. Isn't that card so cute??? |
You can see some of her art on my wall in my sewing room. I have kept things from when she was a little girl. |
I used my little featherweight to sew the binding on. I had so much fun! |
Then I sat in Granny's recliner and sewed the binding on the quilt at the Sparta Hilton. I can't wait until turkey season starts.....I will get to sew some more!!! I love this hunting stuff! |

The baby quilt is adorable. Time spent with your granddaughter is priceless. She does have a remarkable talent for being creative...wonder where that gene comes from?
Looks like "Sweet Teen" should consider a budding business in personalized card creation!
so sweet, precious moments, love that baby quilt, looking good :-)
You're right, the quilt is so cute!
Such a blessing to have your granddaughter share such a great hobby and interests with you. :-)
Hi Val....The baby quilt is darling. I love the colors. How nice for you and "Sweet Teen" to spend the whole day together making precious memories. She is so cute...just like her Granny!
Have a end of the week and God bless......

My what a productive day you had - and how wonderful to spend it with Sweet Teen. She's quite the artist! Your quilt turned out just beautifully, Val!
Looks and sounds like a perfect day. Thanks for sharing. Good job on all the projects!
AHHHH ??? Am I remembering correctly that Sweet Teen was the one who worked on a quilt last year with you???? She is sooo very talented and I know you are so very proud of her.
I can't wait until turkey season starts.....I will get to sew some more!
I had to break into a laugh because I had realized that too????? LOL Poor turkeys , I wish I could hide all of them . : )
Your baby quilt is so cute and I love the fabrics you used, Val.
Sweet teen will have that machine figured out in no time at all and then she will have fun!!!! She really is quite talented in so many areas.
The quilt is beautiful Valerie, and how lovely to have your grandaughter to share your day, yes she is great at making cards. Youngsters seem so much quicker at picking up how to use machinery/technology etc. I usually ask my children to show me how to do stuff...its faster than reading instructions!
What a grand time for you and Sweet Teen....funny how much you love the 'hunting' stuff, lol.
What a wonderful way to spend time with your granddaughter. Such a lovely young lady!
The baby quilt is the sweet. Love the color combination you chose.
That baby quilt is very cute. Your granddaughter is one very talented, pretty young lady. I'm glad she enjoys doing those fun things with you!
You are SO lucky that sweet teen takes an interst in your sewing. I can't wait for the day that mine is old enough to sew. Now she will sit on my lap and watch me.
Have a great day!
Patti
May you always have
Walls for the winds,
A roof for the rain,
Tea beside the fire,
Laughter to cheer you,
Those you love near you,
And all your heart might desire!
Happy St. Patrick's Day, dear Valerie:-)
Such a special time with Sweet Teen and yes, she is quite artistic, I love the Easter card she made. The baby quilt you made is so precious and made with love:-) xoxo
You are keeping good company with Sweet Teen! She is so beautiful! (and did you notice how much she favors her Mom, Trouble in one of the pictures?)
Your baby quilt is very sweet. Good job!
The baby quilt is just so sweet! You did a beautiful job on it, I'm sure the recipient will be so pleased. Yes, it is an honor when someone asks us to make something special.
Glad you had such a good time with your granddaughter. Those are such precious times, I just can't get enough of it. She certainly has a talent with design! I can't draw a stick figure! ha! xoxox
Val what a beautiful baby quilt i love the colours and what special moments you share with your grandchildren its a wonderful time of your life.
Your baby quilt is adorable. And how about sending "Sweet Teen" out to visit with me for a while? I can't even figure out step #1 of my sewing/embroidery machine. ANYTHING she teaches me will be new! And she looks like she is really having a great time with you. That's so wonderful to have close proximity to your grandchildren (mine are 3 hours away). Enjoy!
