Mennonite Visit Part 2

.
After we visited the Mennonite Farm Market then you can ride through
a loop that takes you by their homes.  If you did not read Part 1 go Here.

There were gardens everywhere.

When we first got to the farm market you could see some of the houses from there.
One of the first things that I noticed was clothes on the line.
Then it got dark and thundered some
and before I knew it someone had got all the clothes in.
They did it so quick I didn't even notice!
I really wanted a picture of that too!

These "Grands" are not Mennonites......They are mine!!!!
Aren't they so cute?

Right down from the market this is what we saw.
Beautiful!!

I loved seeing all this so much that I went around the loop twice.

There are 18 families and 400 acres.

I think she needs to be milked!

As we heard the thunder and started down the loop we noticed
they were all trying to get through in the fields and get in.

Some of my pictures are not great because it was starting to rain
and we were also driving in the car but I still love all the pics.

It had started to rain pretty hard here and they were rushing to
get back to their house.  You should see how big this field was that they were plowing.

I caught the back of this buggy going down the road.
I love the big red barn in the background.
I must tell you that Part 3 will be even better!!!

TODAY I AM THANKFUL FOR.........
life long friends.

I love it when you have a friend that you haven't
seen in a while and you pick up just like it was yesterday.
Thank you Sharon!

Great...I've been waiting for this and now I will be waiting for part 3!
You have captured the Amish lifestyle. In all our business their basic lifestyle is quite attractive but I know it would also be hard work.
Will be praying for your Mum

Val, Love the pictures. Such a hard working yet simple way of life. Do you mind sharing where this place it located? We have visited the Amish community in Ehtridge Tn, and took a buggy ride and on Sat. they will stop you at individual houses and you can buy their wares. That was such a wonderful trip. This place looks neat as well. Have a great day.

I love reading about the Mennonites and the Amish. Some live about 45 minutes from here. They are buying up property and building new homes and barns. Their gardens are gorgeous.

Your "grands" must have thought your ride was so interesting.

I'm enjoying the trip with you. It is a beautiful country. They do have a hard life but to their choosing. I love the way everything is so clean & orderly.

thanks for taking me along on your trip through the Mennonite community. They do have the most wonderful gardens and fields of grains and such. In other words, those people put their heart into their work.

This reminds me so much of St. Jacobs, here in Ontario, that is Mennonite country:-) I love going there and like you, always amazed at the huge fields they have and how they do most everything by hand. I loved all of your pictures!! Going to read part 1 now:-) xoxo
