The Kitchen At Our Little Hilton

I couldn't break the tradition of starting all of my posts about "Our Little Hilton"
with food.  The day started out with a great breakfast of sausage, gravy,
and homemade biscuits and of course fried potatoes.  The day ended with a grilled cheese and boy was it yummy!!!

Just thought I would share some of our little humble home away from home.
This is the kitchen of our little Hilton. (hunting cabin).
Sweet Hunter has a jar full of goodies for his sweet tooth!

This little place is rough but we have made it into our little get away.
I've been playing house while "sweet hunter" was turkey hunting.

This is one of our cabinets in our kitchen.
I have more food here than I do at home!!!

Seriously, I do.

I think I mentioned that old crock pot before but my dad gave me that.
The big container holds utensils to cook with and the small one has plastic
forks and spoons in it.

These little containers are in a drawer in my kitchen.
This is our "real" forks and spoons! lol
We have lots of knives for some reason but only have 4 forks and 4 spoons!
Don't ask me why.
I only have 2 drawers but it works out fine.
It's amazing what you don't need!

I am very proud of my ice trays!
It has been years since I've had to have these.
I found these at a thrift store and they work just fine.
I don't miss my ice maker at all!

I brought my little hot pads to our little Hilton.
I brought the apron to match them too.
Aren't they so cute!

This is my little stove here at the hilton.
It was here when we set up our little hunting cabin.
It reminds me of my Granny's stove.
The little coffee pot  was given to us by my sweet Mother In law.
I usually have it on our wood heater but
it is so warm we haven't had to build a fire.

Thanks to my Sweet Mom we have the luxury of a microwave!

One of the cabinets in our kitchen.
What is it about a woman that she likes
to organize and reorganize?

This old refrigerator was also here when we set up our
little hunting cabin.

See Grannys little bowl hanging right above the sink?
I love that bowl.
Sweet Hunter says that hunters would love to have a place like this.
When I first saw it I never dreamed I would spend the night but
I am in love with our little get away.
So this is our kitchen at
"Our little Hilton"!!!

Today I am thankful for..........playing house.

No Sew Fleece Baby Blanket

I have discovered that I need to do things that can be finished quickly.

I went to a baby shower a few months ago and saw a no sew blanket
done and it was so cute. A young teenager had made it and I just loved it.
Hers was a bigger blanket made for a crib.

So I went to "You Tube" and learned how to make a small baby blanket.

I  needed a baby gift for a sweet little friend
and wanted to make her something from my heart.

So I got busy and had so much fun!!!

Here is my finished blanket.
I just love it!

Here it is ready to put in a gift bag!

Then my little "Angel" spent the afternoon with me
and she saw the extra fabric I had and wanted to learn how to make one.

So she got busy and together we made another blanket.
It is smaller but is just perfect because "Angel" helped make it.

Didn't she do a great job?

Then I got busy and made a couple of burp cloths to go with my gift.

I just love to do projects that I can see finished quickly.

So here is my gift blanket, "Angels" blanket and the
burp cloths all made and ready to give away.
I had so much fun making these gifts with "Angel".

Today I am thankful for.........
                                 making memories with "Angel".

Sad News About Our Favorite Quilt Store

My Mom & I at our favorite quilt store.

Mom is so excited about making a mug rug!

Isn't this quilt beautiful?
And do you notice my bag?

"Angel" loves quilts too!

"Brother" found this little display bed and made himself at home.

"Brother" & Nana!

Just some eye candy.

Everything in this store is just gorgeous.

This is our block of the month.

This is the quilt that we are working on.

Look at the Block of the month finished,

Show and tell time in our Saturday club class!

I asked her if I could show something that wasn't quilt related.
I told them that my purse  was crocheted but when I told them that
it was made from plastic shopping bags everyone was so amazed.

Look at this lady looking at the bag as they passed it around
for show and tell.  Her face tells you how intrigued they were  with this bag.
I love it and if you love it too, you can visit Granny J and see what all she makes.

We got some sad news about our favorite quilt store today.
We were just there yesterday and didn't even know this.
We received an email saying that they were closing.
This is not just a store to us. This is "special times" for me,
my Mom & my Grands.  We will miss the family who owns this store.
I don't know why this store is closing but I would like for you to help me pray
for the owners. I know they are so sad.  They have worked very hard to build this business.
This economy is hitting everyone hard.
We need to pray for our country.

Today I am thankful for ......HOPE.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

238

It took 238 bales of pine straw to landscape our yard!!!
Is that not unreal?
BUT......

Today I am thankful for.................our home.
