Simple Busy Days

My days are simple, yet full of hard work. I do things that normal women probably don't do. Is that saying I am not normal?? Sometimes I wonder. I have always felt that if my "sweet honey" thinks enough of me to be at home that I need to do my part. So I do extra things to save us money. I always try to can and freeze enough vegetables to fill my cabinets and freezer for the winter. We live out in the country and don't have trash pick up, so I try to burn our trash to save trips to the dump. It is really amazing how little trash you have if you burn what you can. I fixed my own little fire pit down in the field just for this. I gather our trash every morning and head down there while the grass is still wet. While it is burning, I work in my garden and pick my veges. I also hang my clothes out when the weather is nice, to save on electricity. I wash clothes 2 days a week and do my ironing 1 day a week. I always try to have a good meal on the table. On the weekends, I try to have a dessert for everyone. I take care of my mother-in -law and also for my grown son who has some medical problems. I could not even begin to list the things that I do. I stay very busy and work very hard, but I still try to make my home a sanctuary that my "sweet honey" can enjoy after a hard days work. Today I picked grapes from my vines and made grape jelly. I also took pictures of my fall garden. It is doing really good. I also listed some things on eBay today to make a little extra money. I love simple, busy days. I am very happy and content being a homemaker. I have heard women say that they would be bored at home. I could not ever imagine that. I am very thankful to serve my family.

You may call it simple, but it is much to be admired, all that you do! Your cabbage looks fantastic! You had to have learned all this from someone other than me! I am so proud of you, and you are the hardest worker I know! I love you!

Your life is that of a virtuous woman from Proverbs 31. I admire you and all that you do. You have a big, loving heart, and it shows in all that you do. Your light definitely shines. God bless & keep you...my friend. :)

I've always loved being a homemaker and bored isn't a word that is in my vocabulary either! lol Always something to do, especially if you have a garden. I do a lot of canning and pickling as well and although it's hard work, it's so worth it:-) Our garden is now almost empty except for the carrots and beets. Will have to get at those in the next week or so. We picked all our tomatoes because of the frost we've been getting so they're in boxes ripening now. Once I have enough ripened ones, I'll can them. You can be proud of everything you do, your loved ones appreciate it all, I'm sure:-) xoxo

I love you! I haven't told you that in a while, but I wanted you to know. You are such an admirable woman. I wish I could be all that you are as a wife and a mother. I just can't seem to get it all done. I'm still trying though.

reasI'm a horrible slacker compared to all that you accomplish. I'm going to remember this post and think of it often throughout today---keeping myself accountable for the way I spend my time as I work in our home.

I appreciate your insights, your sharing and the encouragement you offer through your sharing.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a sweet comment! I love living a simple life as well. I find it quite busy here at home and am never bored! I've taught myself--with books and websites--how to can this year for the first time. It's been a lot of wonderful work. I look forward to reading more of your blog as well.
