Frustated And Then Here Comes FRED.....

My new rulers that I don't know how to use!

I was working on block 2 from the Saturday sampler from my favorite quilt store Lavender Lime. Last month I purchased a new ruler set called the Tri-Recs Tools by Darlene Zimmerman & Joy Hoffman. I needed it to do this Feb. block. I am trying to get these blocks done before the next Sat. sampler. Needless to say, I waited until the night before to try it. I got so frustrated. It just doesn't look right. It looks like my center block is just to small. Anyway, so I decided to quit for the night.

Doesn't the center block look too small or are the other pieces too big? Who Knows? I sure don't.
I have measured and measured.
I will take it tomorrow and have them look at it at the quilt store.
They are wonderful to help.

I was really frustrated and then I heard my "sweet daughter," Maranda calling me and telling me to hurry. Being the blogger that I am I had camera in hand and this is what I saw......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Meet FRED

FRED SAYING...
DUH, WHAT ARE YOU ALL LOOKING AT????

My "Sweet honey" has been telling me that every night there are possums on my picnic table on my deck. (yuk) Anyway, Maranda & Lane were cleaning the kitchen and took some table scraps outside and found him. He just stood there. He wasn't scared at all. Isn't he ugly? Lane got so close to him to take these pictures. Maranda named him Fred. Needless to say, my frustration turned into laughing at this very ugly, dumb animal that was looking at us as if we were bothering him. He never moved. It was amazing. He just sat there looking at us. My "sweet honey" says that Fred has several friends!!!! OOOOOhhhhh! At least Fred made me forget about my frustration. Well, just thought I would introduce you to FRED!

I don't know - I think he's kind of cute - in his own little way.

I have never seen a possum--thanks for sharing.

As for the block, probably once you sew it with a 1/4" seam allowance--all will work out. Good luck. It sure looks like a neat block. Julie

That happened to me on Hannah's quilt! I was so frustrated because I didn't figure it out until I was putting all the squares together. About 1/2 of them were smaller than the rest, so just to make my job easier I cut the other 1/2 down to size. Overall it made the quilt smaller than my original intention. Possums are just plain ugly!

Oh my gosh. A possum! We only have racoons in Utah I think.
