Maranda's Pineapple Pretzel Dessert

Pineapple Pretzel Dessert

Great salty and sweet combo!

1½ cups crushed pretzels (food processor)
1 cup sugar - divided in two
½ cup margarine
8 oz. Cool Whip 8 oz. cream cheese - softened
20 oz. can crushed pineapple in heavy syrup
2 tbs. cornstarch

Combine pretzels, ½ cup sugar, and butter. Press into 13x9 inch pan. Combine cool whip, cream cheese, ½ cup sugar. Beat well. Pour over pretzel crust. In saucepan combine pineapple and cornstarch. Cook until thickened. Spread over cream cheese. Chill and enjoy!

This sounds ever so delicious. I've never heretofore considered the combination of pretzels and pineapple, but it makes sense now I think about it. Thank you for sharing this delight.
