Friday Night Sew In & Sew & Tell Fridays!!!

Remember the last Friday Night Sew In?
I made these burp cloths and bibs to match.
Well, I had some scraps so I started this........
And I finished it last night!
Isn't it cute?
It matches the burp cloths & bibs!
Don't look too close because it sure is not perfect.
But I can now say I have made 2 big quilts and 2 baby quilts!

I started out just doing squares like Granny does but once I decided on the backing fabric
I added strips in between each row. I think it looks pretty good for a beginner.
There are 3 major boo boo's in it but nobody else can see it so I am just not worried about it.
This is the gift for my sister in law.
She had her first grandbaby a few months ago so I am a little late.
I have gave them other things but this one is for my SIL to keep at her house when the baby comes to visit. It is really cute even if I did do it myself! I am proud!!!
Thank you Heidi and AmyLouWho for all of the encouragement!

What a great project for the sew in!!! Nice job! I know that it will be greatly loved, Val. Did Granny like it too?

What a great idea to give a new grandma her own blanket and bibs. If you had not told me they blanket wasn't "perfect," I'd never known the difference. Who wants a perfect quilt anyway? That takes away the beauty of owning something homemade.

Congratulations. You have learned and accepted one of the rules of quilting. No one else sees the mistakes, so just forget about them, because no one but God can make anything perfect.
The burp clothes and quits are so sweet and the baby is going to be so comfy.

Hi Valeria!
Thank you so very much for coming to visit my blog and for allowing me to visit you.
I truly love your blog and the projects you are working on.
I love the pictures of your Mom and Granny . My Mom always told me how important it is to get pictures of all the different generations so you can pass it along for your loved one. (Your Mom and Granny are absolutely beautiful!)
Hugs, Linda -the sewing granny

I enjoy quilts that use simple squares. I think handmade should be imperfect and handmade quilts carry one's hand craftsmanship that no one lease does.

Merry Christmas~
