A Year Ago "Granny,The Energizer Bunny" - Revisited

I really and truly believe that Granny could be the energizer bunny!
She had already finished 2 quilts this past week and was starting on another one.
The one she is pictured with above is beautiful. I will put it along with the other one that looks almost identical on my side bar in case anyone is interested in buying a Granny quilt. Just let me know.
This is the fabric that she was using for the next quilt. It is going to be beautiful too. It is a floral and maroon color. I am sure it is finished by now. I will see tomorrow because I am headed over there before work.
Aren't these hands so precious.

She sat with me and "fellowshipped" about 3 minutes and said, "Beth, are you going to work because I have got to get to sewing!!!" I said, "yes Granny, you go get busy." She is hilarious.

I guarantee you the energizer bunny doesn't have anything on this woman!!
She never ceases to amaze me.

SNIPPETS FROM MY HEART
Today was a difficult day for me.  One year ago today, April 13th my Granny passed away.
This post above was actually posted on April 7, 2010.  You can even read some of your comments on that date last year below.
Isn't it amazing that I titled that post "Granny-The Energizer Bunny" and 6 days later she left us?
One of her greatest fears was that she would leave this world with an unfinished quilt.
But let me tell you that she had all her quilts finished before she left us.
The day that she got sick me and my Dad had a cleaning job to do
and she had told us to go on.  My aunt came and took her
to the E.R.  We just thought it was something like a virus
or something because Granny hardly ever got sick.
Then we found out that it was more serious than we thought.
Today I went and visited my Daddy.  I didn't know if he would realize the date but he did.
He had been going through her pictures and reading all of the comments that you bloggers sent to the funeral home.  I will never forget the gift of love that you all gave to my Granny.
I miss her so much.
I know that you all do too.
Just felt like revisiting Granny today.

The energizer bunny - she certainly is . Has she always been this way? Has she ever told you what her childhood was like .

My daughter was about 10 and one of her school projects was to "interview" a person. So, she picked the lady who lived beside our church and she was 91. She told all the most wonderful stories about her life. We made a copy of it and gave it to her for the history to share with her children and grand children.

These "special edition" ladies are most remarkable and I wish I had more of their courage and tenacity .

Hugs to you, Val. Thanks again for sharing Granny. Are you keeping track of all the quilts she has sold? You and Granny would probably both be amazed!
be blessed, Michelle

I'm glad Granny takes a few minutes out to "fellowship" with you. LOL! I think it makes you both feel better. She is so cute.

Keep your little snippets coming, Val. They really make me delve into my own life and I think I could spend more time talking to God, too. Bless you and your family now and forever.

Sheesh, I'd settle for a quarter of her energy, lol!
Yes dear Val, you are sheltered in the arms of the Most High - and prayers continue to rise on your behalf!

God bless Granny. I think it's so funny how she shoos you away by asking you if you have work.
She's amazing at whipping those quilts though.
Have a great Thursday!
Thank you for sharing your snippet.

I can never say enough about Granny and her energy and her desire to create quilts! She is one in a million! You know, I was thinking about her and about how she probably meditates on the Lord the whole time she is sewing. She likes quiet and I believe that is what she is doing, thinking on the Lord. She will have a most special place with the Lord in heaven.

That Granny...she is so precious...she is on a mission to complete as many quilts as possible. Do you have any idea as to how many she has made in her life time?

May God give you the peace you need as you go thru life's unpleasant happenings.

Hugs from Oklahoma

Granny is simply amazing. It is too funny how she can politely tell you that she is tired of being idle.

Yes Val, quiet is good. You are under His shelter.

I seriously don't know how Granny does it! Two quilts in one week is a lot of sewing! Kudo's to Granny!

I just love that picture of her sweet hands!! I am so happy that we have two granny quilts! They are very much loved, both are resting on my daugthers' beds right now. :) Thank you Granny. ( I know I would've loved her!! )

I know it was a sad day for you, but Granny is celebrating now with Jesus in heaven, and she would not come back if she had the choice. It is heaven's gain, and she is probably looking at all the colors of the flowers and thinking what a beautiful quilt those colors would make!

Grandma's are the best. I understand her feeling of leaving an unfinished quilt. I have a ton of unfinished projects and I often wonder what would become of them if I couldn't finish them. I have a quilt top finished now that needs to be quilted... too bad grandma isn't around to help me finish it :)

Just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed looking at your photos of your "Granny". I love the simple lifestyle that she had. I think the world would be a better place if we had more women like your Granny in it. I know you miss her. It would have been wonderful to hear how she was raised.
