Quilts In The Chapel

This Chapel is located at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

We recently went there for a short trip and
were blessed to have some Dollywood tickets given to us.

Sorry about the reflection but I wanted you to see this quilt.
It is just beautiful.

The Last Supper

In The Manger

This is another quilt on the wall.

This is one of 2 quilts that are up in the front on the wall.

This is the other one!

In The Garden
The Wisemen

The Carpenter

Healing The Sick

The Shepherds

David and Goliath

Samson

Joseph's Coat

I know that was a lot of pictures but the quilts were just beautiful.
                                                       I have always loved Dollywood.
I was intrigued with the blocks on that big quilt.
We were a pair.  I had vertigo and "Sweet Hunter's" back kills him when he walks but we had FREE tickets and were not gonna miss going!
It was really funny. We both would have to stop and sit down every few minutes.
Sometimes you just have to laugh!!!

Sewing Room Is Finished

I have worked so hard in my basement.  All the piles are gone!  I am now a filer!
I am blessed to have a whole room just for my sewing area.  I decided that is why I don't sew much because I needed organization.  So I am over it.  There is a place for everything and everything in its place. This is one of my Singer 401A's.  I got this wonderful sewing machine from my good blogging friend Michelle!  I would not take anything for it.
My sewing machine guy that I use says this is a work horse.  He says that this is the best sewing machine ever made.  It is amazing.  It will do anything.  I haven't learned all of it yet.
I almost sold my chalk board in the yard sale.  I am so glad that I didn't.
I now have all of my goals written on it.  Maybe I will get something accomplished now.
This is my Brother Embroidery Machine.  It is not anything fancy and I have a lot to learn on it too. See the little basket underneath.....it is full of my scraps covered by the sewing machine cover.  It was made by a blogger and sent to Granny and after she passed away they gave it to me.  Another treasure from Granny!
My "Sweet Mother" made these precious dolls in the center. A treasure from Mom.
The Lucy doll was given to me several years ago from my daughters.  They know that "I love Lucy" and I do!  I know someone else that does too, right Allie??
The little wooden sewing machine was Granny's. She stored her thread in it. Treasure.  The pin cushions were made by a blogger friend for me, Mom & Granny.  I have mine and Granny's.  Another treasure. I won the little quilt hanging on the wall from my favorite quilt store in Chattanooga Tennessee!  Lavender Lime Quilt Store
Everyone deals with something in their life that they cannot do anything about.  So this hangs on my wall in my sewing room as a reminder that I cannot fix everything for everybody.
I have enough to take care of just taking care of ME!
I moved the stuff around in this sewing machine everywhere.  The sewing machine was sitting here when I realized that I needed a chair in my sewing room. So I got to thinking about the outside furniture that I have on my deck.  Don't worry I have lots more.  Anyway I brought the little glider rocker down and then added the tables.  Then I decided to go get a lounger and try it.  I think I like this.
Well the first thing I notice is my picture is crooked!  Gotta fix that.  I found that at a yard sale.  It is actually a cabinet door complete with hinges.  They just painted that on it.  I love it.  Of course I have to have my computer down there.  It is sitting on Granny's old sewing machine cabinet.  More treasures.
This is just another view of my furniture in my sewing room.  That star quilt  on my design wall is one that I started with Crazy Mom Quilts a long time ago.  I sure hope that she keeps the instructions up so I can finish this.
Well that is the tour of my special room.  I am so glad that it is finished.
No more piles. Everything has a place.  Oh see my shelves in the back.  They hold so much stuff.  I bought this at a yard sale too.  It is just perfect. To the left you can see a little bit of my cutting table.  It folds out to be about 6 foot wide and has 2 drawers and 2 cabinets in it.  Then it folds up to fit where I need it too.  I bought it at Walmart several years ago.  It was on clearance and was the last one they had.  I am glad that I bought it.   I love it.
So what do you think?  I love it.  Now lets see if I get in there and sew.  I think I will.

One Of Our Favorite Hobbies...

This is from our all time favorite Mexican Restaurant in Atlanta Ga.
Papasito's. They serve 2 kinds of salsa with chips when you arrive.
We always ask for the yellow queso dip with the fresh tortillas that they make.
Oh My goodness!

    Chicken  fajitas.
There is so much food that we always share.

I have never saw so much food in my life.
My daughter, May May is the one that introduced us to this place several years ago.
We always end our Sparta Hilton trips at this restaurant.

This is the tortillas before they are cooked.
They always give the children a ball of this dough to play with at the table.

This is my weakness. Potatoes. Anyway you cook them-I love them.  Add onions and you have me!
This is from a restaurant in Chattanooga Tennessee called The Country Place.

This breakfast is also from The Country Place in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Chocolate Milk Shake from Dollywood in Gatlinburg.

Hash Browns.  Yum!

This is my "Sweet Hunter's" favorite breakfast in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
This is called French Toast Royale at The Log Cabin Restaurant.

Have I told you that I LOVE McDonalds dipped cone?

This recipe for Cracker Barrel Copy Cat Recipe is on my Cooking Blog!
What can I say???

A Secret Place & A Fun Meme

This is a place that used to be a store.
Now it is just collections.
I asked my friend if I could take pictures and he agreed.
I thought you might enjoy this little secret place.

Look at all of these little Pez Candy containers.  Amazing.
One time when I was ebaying I bought a container that I loved.
When I got home we opened it and it had Pez Candy toys in it.
We sold them on ebay!  I was amazed what people will pay for these.

If there is a sewing machine around, you know I will get a picture of it.

I LOVE this little clock.

Usually it is the women that like to shop but my friend told me that shopping for things like this was his passion.

This is not just a piece of furniture.
This opens up with a sewing table that pops out and lots of storage.
It even has places for your thread.

More collections.

I think this is McCoy!

Amazing that someone has this much stuff.
This is not in his home. This is in a separate building.
This is what I really wanted a picture of but when he allowed me to take other pictures I was thrilled.
He built this bird feeder.  Is this not something?

His yard is in tiers.  This looks like a stairway to heaven.
When you get to the top you will see lots of grapevines, azalias, roses, hostas. and lots more.

 Another bird house.
Looking up from the stairway.
I think they love birds!

This is a barrel that he collects the rain water so he can water all of his plants.

Another view looking up.

Benches & Swings are everywhere.

There are also angels everywhere.
This is just a little piece of heaven.
I thought you would enjoy seeing all of this.
The owner told me that this is his secret place.

TAGGED
I have been tagged by Mama Bear to answer her questions. Then I am suppose to pick 8 new questions and pick 8 people to participate.  This was fun. Thank you for including me!

What to you is the greatest benefit you receive from blogging?  I discovered blogs a few years ago.  I immediately thought of my Mom because she has so much to share.  I asked her if she would start one for her children and she said that she would, if I would.  I never knew that I would love it like I do.  I have made many new friends even though we may never meet on this side of life.  When your everyday friends are too busy to talk or visit (which is just the way life is), I can always go and visit my blogging friends!  I love learning and I love friendship.  There are so many people that have so much to share.  I just love blogging.

What was your childhood nickname? How did you get it?  Are you still called that now?
Beth.  It is actually short for my middle name. Elizabeth. Yes, I am still called that now by family.

Miracle Whip or Mayonaise?  Mayo!

What is your favorite season and why? This is a hard one. I love fall because of the cool weather and slowing down in life.  I love spring because it seems like a new beginnng and life.

When you are sick, do you like a lot of attention and pampering or do you like to be left alone?
Sometimes both.

Share one pleasant childhood memory. Coming home on a cold winters day from school and my MOM having hot chocolate and popcorn waiting on us.

Share a time that a hymn has ministered to you in a special way.
Just the other day we were at Dollywood in Gatlinburg and I watched a video of Dottie Rambo and heard her story of how she wrote the song WE SHALL BEHOLD HIM.  She wrote this song in a car in 7 minutes in 7 miles while looking at a sunset that she said God placed before her.  Dottie was good friends with some of our best friends. She passed away not too long ago in a bus accident.  If you have never heard of her you need to read her story.  She was and is still a blessing.  We were priveliged to meet her several times.

Describe your favorite coffee mug. Why do you like it?
We have 2 Starbucks coffee mugs. I love them because they were given to us as a gift by a very good blogging friend, Martha! She also knitted me 2 scarves and sent them to me.  See why I love blogging!

Here are my questions for My Mom, Cathy, Granny J, Amelia, Mildred, Connie, Sherry, Michelle!
If any of you do not want to participate that is fine.
Just wanted you to know that I was thinking of you.

1. Do you prefer hand washing dishes or the dishwasher?
2.  Rainy days or sunny days?
3.  Do you have a hobby and what is it?
4.  Are you a shopper?
5.  If you could do one thing in your life no matter what it costs, what would you do?
6.  Do you have a certain "wash" day (laundry day) like Granny did?
7. Do you have a simple recipe that you love and would you share it with us?
8.  Who are YOU?  The real YOU?  The one that only YOU know.

If anyone leaving a comment would like to answer these questions, leave answers in your comment. This is a lot of fun.
