The End Of Our Mennonite Visit Part 5

This has been a desire of my heart for years to visit a place like this.
I thought I had to go miles away to see this lifestyle when it was only an hours drive from home.
Thanks to my Mom for inviting me to go!!!

The sign says:
Needle Eye Press
This is their printing company.

I drove by as slow as I could to see what they were doing.

Is this not the sweetest picture???

Did you notice that they are barefooted?

They were loading up to go back to the fields after the storm.
The picture is not very clear because I was in the car moving
but I was wanting to capture what the woman was watching.

I wonder what that big stick is that she has under her arm.

When I went around the loop the second time this is what I saw.
Mother & Daughter.

These are some of the neatest gardens and houses ever.

When you enter this area to go to the market you go under this bridge.
My Grands loved this.

But of all the things we saw and loved on this trip........
this is what my grandchildren  loved the most!
We were leaving and as we pulled out in to the road......
there it was.......the highlight of our day.......they wanted me to stop and get it!!!!
We had to watch and make sure that it got to the other side of the road
safely before we could go home!!!
Here I am having all these teaching moments and this little turtle was the star of the trip!!!
Is this not hilarious????

TODAY I AM THANKFUL FOR........a fun night with friends!
Also, we need implore that we might not easily complain or grudge against one another, but rather bear in patience one another's infirmities, bettering each other by good instructions.  Our desire to flee and avoid all offenses, contentions, separations and schisms.  These cause insufferable discord and bring condemnation.  But rather we strive for peace, and seek to heal and restore to unity that which is broken and ruined, rent and torn asunder but the subtlety of the devil and blind ignorance.  If we do this, we shall cause the blessing and presence of God to be with us.

Looks like a wonderful trip. My favorite pic of all is the mom with daughter on her lap. How sweet.

I agree with Lori...the mother/daughter photo is my favorite. But they all tell a story of the simple life.
I'm afraid that the turtle would have been the highlight of my children/grandchildren's day also.

I never see a turtle in the road but what I don't think of my grandson Christopher. He wanted to stop and get every one we saw and often Papa would stop and Chris would bring one home. Papa is gone now and Christopher is 34. But, I still think of him when I see turtles.

That was an awesome trip. I'm so glad you had this time with your mom. Thanks so much for taking us along.
I have thoroughly enjoyed each post. That is a beautiful place. Mother & daughter together in also my pick. The turtle would have been my ggs's favorite too. Kids, the simplest things keep them happy.

So a turtle stole the show! lol That is too funny:-) More lovely pictures from your trip and I have to say the one of the mother holding her daughter is my very favourite. How precious is that?!!

A few years ago, on one of our trips to Niagara Falls, we had gone on one of the trams that bring you from point A to point B and on it was a Mennonite family. The first thing I noticed...the children were wearing no shoes!! When you mentioned how the mother and daughter had no shoes on, it reminded me of that:-) xoxo
