Happy New Year!

I have a lot of goals for my life in 2008. I want to love deeper, read more books, learn all I can, cook more, sew more, craft more, play harder, garden, rest more, work harder, and be the best I can be at everything I do. I want to be a better wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt & friend. All I want to do on any given day is to make a small difference in some way.

I have a roof up above me,
I have a good place to sleep,
I've got food on my table
And shoes on my feet.
You gave me your love Lord,
And a fine family.
Thank you Lord for
Your blessings on me.

THANK YOU IS JUST NOT ENOUGH.
Have a Blessed New Year!

Apple Butter For Gifts

Crock Pot Apple Butter

Chop up 5 quarts of apples
4 cups sugar
4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground cloves

Place apples in crock pot.
(lid may not fit until apples cook down)
Drizzle all other ingredients over apples. Turn on high until your apples cook down so the lid will fit. Then turn on low for approx 10 hours or overnight. Cool down and spoon into containers and refrigerate until you use all.

Enjoy!
Hope you enjoy your apple butter....Vicki & Eddie!

We Missed You

There was something missing from our Christmas party. My Sister, Brenda and her family did not get to attend. Although we had a great party, we sure did miss these family members that couldn't come. Robbie had strep throat.

We played several games and had a lot of fun. Tyler, my nephew made that Christmas tree at Thanksgiving and had all of us make little cardboard ornaments for it. He brought it to our Christmas party completely decorated. How special is that? The food was great! I will let the pictures below speak for themselves. There is a video and 2 different slideshows below. Pour yourself a cup of coffee, tea or if you are like me.....Coke and enjoy the pictures!

Randy and I were so honored to have our family in our home for Christmas!

From Our Home To Yours...... MERRY CHRISTMAS!

A MOTHER'S LOVE

There are times when only a Mother's love
Can understand our tears,
Can soothe our disappointments
And calm all of our fears.

There are times when only a Mother's love
Can share the joy we feel
When something we have dreamed about
Quite suddenly is real.

There are times when only a Mother's faith
Can help us on life's way
And inspire in us the confidence
We need from day to day.

For a Mother's heart and a Mother's faith
And a Mother's steadfast love
Were fashioned by the Angels
And sent from God above...

I went to the Doctor with my Mom today to get some results of some tests they had done on her heart. The results were pretty good. My mother did not need me to drive her or anything, I just went to be another set of ears. We got there early, and she was worried that I would be bored and kept offering me a magazine. Then we began talking, and talking and talking! I even heard a story that I had never heard before. It was beautiful! (Check out her blog@ hartdolls.blogspot.com- she will be telling this story soon!) I had the best time ever!

I've always heard that you turn out to be your mother.......well, I am! I am very proud to say that. My mom gave up everything for her children. She has always been there for all of us. My mom is the most independant, self sufficient woman I know. She is very beautiful as you can see in this picture. I can remember my mom sitting at the sewing machine when I was younger sewing us an Easter dress, or a prom dress for me or my sisters. I didn't realize then, what I know now, which is that my mom was the best gift I was ever given. I have saw her when she was sad, and never thought she would get through the storm she was in. But then I see that the storms she had to endure were to make her stronger. We never know why we go through things, but "Joy does always come in the morning!"

OH HOW BLESSED WE ARE!
THANK YOU IS NOT ENOUGH!
I LOVE YOU, MOM!
