You Will Never Believe What I Found

First of all I wanted to show you how cold it is here.
It suppose to be 15 degrees here tonight again.
We live on the other side of a mountain so it is always a couple of degrees colder over here.
But the pond has been frozen for a few days. It is so pretty. I hope the fishies are warm way down under.
I love the thrift stores. I wish we had more around here.
I found this huge grapevine wreath. It is probably 3 or 4 foot round.
I love it. I think I will hang it on my screened in porch.
I paid 1.99 for it.
This was my best find of the day. I have a Jenn Aire Stove that has a grill.
Well after 13 years of lots of cooking it is looking a little rough. The Grill and griddle parts costs over 300.00. This was new in the box and it is not Jenn Aire Brand but guess what .......
IT FITS! I paid 5.99 for these.
I saw this the other day when I went in the store.
Sometimes things just call your name.
I left there not knowing if I really wanted it or not.
But when I went back in today I heard that same voice calling my name!
And then to beat it all .....it was a red tag which meant half price. It was 9.99 and then half off.
I really heard my name being called then!
So it all came home with me.
I try not to buy things unless I really feel the LOVE.
When I saw this little bowl it reminded me of my husbands Granny.
It is a very small bowl but I knew I had to have it.
It was 49 cents!

Can you believe this....Look what I found.
Now you are probably gonna say.....WHY?
But you have to know me.
I hate to stay in motels and use their toilets.
I disinfect and take all precautions but I just have a thing about that.
When I saw these toilet seat covers for 1.99 each (250 in each pkg.) 500 total- Do you think I should go get more? I thought this is a small price to pay to feel clean and safe.
Some days I go to the thrift stores and may not find a thing but today I spent very little and had a ball. Isn't that what it is all about? You have got to know that I don't shop. (except in grocery stores and thrift stores & yard sales). I hate paying full price for anything so this was so much fun to me. I was all by myself and took my time and looked and looked. Slowing down is one of my New Years Resolutions and I am finding out that I like this slowing down stuff.

I'm totally amazed by your finds! I go to Salvation Army and Goodwill occasionally but not nearly as often as I should. A couple of weeks ago though I found about 4 skirts that were 100% wool - a couple were $3 or $4 and a couple were $2. That's a lot of wool when I cut them up and wool is very expensive. I love wool projects so when I wash these in hot water and dry them it works perfectly! blessings, marlene

Oh, my...you and I are cut from the same cloth with our absolute love for thrift shops. We are very lucky in that we have 7 of them within 20 - 25 minutes of my home!!! (I also love yard sales.....but there aren't any this time of year around here with the cold weather.) GREAT buys you got today!!! WOW....

You're really good at finding the bargains. Most of the time, I don't have the patiences for looking around unless it has something to do with crafts.
I hope you're having a great week!

Jeepers, you and I sure do believe in the same "shopping policy" , plus we are doing our share of keeping the money in our communities. ~smile
I totally adore your finds and I know all about what you explained as something that calls to you and you can feel the love.
I loved the picture of your pond. IT is beautiful. I too hope your fishies are all safe and looking forward to SPRING!!!!!!!! Because I sure am! LOL

Oh my goodness. You'll soon be ice skating on that pond. It is cold there!!!!

Great finds! You are too funny with your toilet seat covers. It must be a woman thing the way we all feel about toilet seats.

Darn, I wish I had known that you needed Jenn Aire grills. I replaced my range a few years back and gave mine away to a neighbor. I had the griddle too. Oh shoot!

Hope you warm up soon. xoxo

Val that is cold! I know cuz it's about the temp we have here in Michigan. BRRR - stay warm!

I love all your finds - and yes, I'd get more toilet covers, lol! I have a really hard time paying for anything new and thrifting is right up there with sewing for me. Matter of fact, that's how I like to buy my fabric - at thrift stores!

I love those days when the thrift is giving up the goods one after another. Sometimes there's nothing but I always go back because I know that eventually the perfect thing will appear and it will be totally worth the hunt.
Who says only men hunt? ;)

Thrift stores are so much fun, but my favorites are garage and yard sales! I go to many of those in the summer, I love them.
It sounds like you are having the same really cold weather we are having. I am ready for spring!

Well I must say you certainly did hit the store on a agood day!
How wonderful to find the grates for your stove.

Now about the toilet seat protectors - I'M WITH YOU ON THIS ONE...I would have grabbed them quickly as well.

I carry the ones you can buy that are on a roll - very handy when traveling.

Hugs, Karen

I remember one Christmas in the 80s when the pond at my FILs house froze and the children and adults could walk out on it. This was a once in a lifetime thing.
You lucked out on your thrift store finds. My favorite is the bowl.

If any of your grands are into scrapbooking, go to the link for Ruby Studios on my blog. She has some wonderful videos that the Princess is loving.

You're my kind of gal...I so love going to thrift stores and finding treasures that are calling out my name! lol You really had a great day of thrifting and the prices sure were right. I was gone to our local thrift shop the other day, hoping to find some vintage Christmas ornaments but there wasn't much left in that department. Did buy a couple of vintage cookbooks, though:-)

Wow, how lucky you were to find those paper seat covers! I'm like you, I really hate to use any public washrooms, even in hotels. xoxo
