Staples,Thumb Tacks, or Tape???

Last year my sweet friend Connie made a ironing board out of a t.v. tray.
I thought this was the neatest thing. It can sit right next to your sewing machine and you can also travel with it easy. She was so sweet and sent me the ironing fabric for the top of it. Now this was last year and I am just now getting to making one.
Wonder if all this counts as Sew & Tell? I hope so.

I looked and looked for our big staple gun but couldn't find it. Then I looked for thumb tacks........couldn't find any. The only other thing I could think of was tape and it worked! I started out with Priority tape (shhhh!) but it didn't seem strong enough so I found my ebay tape. It may take me a while to get it done but when I decide to do something, I do it....no matter what!!!

Thank you Connie! I love my little ironing board tray!

Remember this?
Embroidery For Dummies?

I am making progress! I love embroidery so far even though I have really only done 1 stitch. The satin stitch. After I get that done, I will do a back stitch and then I will know 2 stitches! Yay for me! I know it is not perfect but I am proud. Hopefully the next time you see it this will be finished.

The ironing board is such a convenient size for small projects. Great idea.
Like the living thing, the butterfly is changing into something beautiful.

Val, Looks like you've solved the ironing table problem with your tape. I use my table all the time when I'm piecing and it's such a convenience.
Your embroidery is looking fantastic. The BOM that I'm slowly doing is the current embroidery project at my house. I decided to leave it out, by my armchair in the t.v. room, and when I have spare minutes I can pick it up and stitch a while. When it was in my sewing bag I would completely forget about it. At least now it's getting some attention.
Keep on stitchin', Girlfriend!

Well, I never!!! Thought of a tray table as an ironing board and it's small enough to sit almost anywhere.

Love the embroidery piece. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Great idea for an ironing table. It is so nice to have one right next to you while sewing.

Your embroidery looks great, Val. You will do well with the other stitches as I think the satin stitch is one of the most difficult.

A little measly thing like no staples ever stopped a woman determined as long as tape was to be found! Great idea, and pretty butterfly.

Valerie I love the ironing surface - I saw it at Connie's before and I even have the fabric but can't find just one tv tray to make it. They all come in sets! Embroidery is my very favorite thing to do unless it's the blanket stitch applique (which is really embroidery after all) on wool. blessings, marlene

Your embroidery is gorgeous, girl! I'm so glad you're enjoying it! That's a great idea for the ironing table. Mine is just a thrift store table, covered with a pad, and put on wheels - it gets rolled all over the place, lol! But it sure isn't portable.
