And Now We Turn The Page.....

One thing "Sweet Hunter" and I wanted to do in this life is to redo a farmhouse.
When we sold our house (see last post), we looked at several places including this one.
We could not get it out of our mind.
The original part of the farmhouse was built in 1887.

It has over 1400 ft. of river frontage on 49 acres!

We started looking at this house and land the end of  Feb.
We tried to like other houses but this one kept coming up.

Remember my kitchen I had in my other home?
(see last post).
Well, this is no where near it.
We went to look at inside of house after riding by several times.

I LOVED the 3 old fireplaces but I did not like the chopped up rooms.

We walked away and said this just would not work.
We looked and looked and kept ending up here on the river!

We LOVED the river but not the inside of the house.

We loved the land, but not the inside of the house.

We decided to make a very low offer.
So we went back and forth for weeks.

It even only has one bathroom!!!!!
And its blue!!!!
Blue bathtub, blue sink, and blue commode!

Then I saw this.
A tire swing.

Then we saw this.

And this!!!!

And this did it for me!!!
SOLD! SOLD! SOLD!

There is so much to tell about this story.
I really don't know where to begin.
So I began with what we saw.
Oh my! We are in love!
Just wait and see what we do with this.........

For Such A Time As This......

I just realized that I haven't shared our latest news to blogland!

About a year and a half ago we purchased a home in the city.

We completely remodeled it and it is beautiful.

The funny thing was that we never ever imagined living in the city and
on top of that "Sweet Hunter's" brother lived about 7 or 8 houses down.

We had a lot of good times putting our suppers together.
It was wonderful.

We loved our home so much but had no idea we would ever move to the city!

This shower was probably the best thing about the house!

Little did we know that the Lord had a plan way beyond what we knew.

Sweet Hunters mom had heart problems and ended up staying with us when she was so bad.
We were so very thankful to live on that very street at that very time because
"Sweet Hunter's" Brother and his wife were there to help us along with our family and friends. She went home to be with the Lord right after Christmas.
A few months later.......
We decided that our time in that house was over as much as we loved it.
For such a time is this..........
We decided to sell.
We put our for sale sign up on a Tuesday and sold the house
on the following Sunday.

We had 7 different families look at our home and
2 that were ready to make an offer, but the Lord
had another plan. Right down the road from us,
were some people that had just sold their house without
even putting a sign up. They asked could they look at ours.
They came down and we connected with them right away.
They bought our home. We were amazed that they lived 3 doors down
and didn't want to leave that street. They also wanted to downsize.
We just fell in love with this Christian couple.
We all four are amazed how this was a "God Thing".
No doubt.

All of us truly believe that the Lord was in charge of this
all along. We have moved. They have moved in.
We are all very excited and know that the Lord is truly in charge of
our lives. We are in the process of buying a home and are beyond excited!
More news coming........ Lots more blogging!
Now we are going to turn the page on this chapter of our lives.
For such a time as this...............

Thank you Lord for seeing way beyond what we could see!!!

The Vision Of The Desk & Chair

It all started at a wood yard in North Carolina.

He was getting the vision here.
I guess he was thinking....
this could be a leg of the desk.
Then we had to find 3 more.
The legs are cedar and custom cut
just for "Sweet Hunter".

Then he found the top of the desk.
It was a piece of maple.

Then we carried it home.

He set it all up in the garage.
I could see the vision.

At this point is where he went and called his "Cousin Troy",
who is a master carpenter.
He saw the vision too.
He took it home with him.

Then several weeks later he brought it back home to
"Sweet Hunter"!
There was no doubt that "Cousin Troy" saw the vision too.
Oh my!

"Sweet Hunter" was so excited!
We both were!
Then we had to go find a chair that was worthy of sitting behind this gorgeous desk!
Then we had to find the perfect cow hide rug to put it on!

The Vision is Complete!
Isn't it gorgeous?
The picture does not do it justice!
When "Sweet Hunter" got it back,
He said it was perfect.
He said he hoped that one day it would be an heirloom
that our children would keep forever
because he had a vision.
It all started in a wood yard but it is priceless to us!
Thank you to "Cousin Troy"!!!!
"Sweet Hunter" had the dream and "Cousin Troy" had the know how!

Jesus built a bridge to Heaven,
So that I could have a way up to Him
Jesus built a bridge the only way he could
With only three nails and two pieces of wood,
with one rugged cross, Jesus built a bridge.

Thank you Lord for your vision of the bridge!

The Little Boy & The Old Man

Said the little boy, " Sometimes I drop my spoon."
Said the old man, "I do that too."

The little boy whispered, "I wet my pants."
"I do that too," laughed the old man.

Said the little boy, "I often cry".
The old man nodded, "So do I."

"But worst of all," said the little boy,
"It seems grown ups don't pay attention to me.

And he felt the warmth of a wrinkled old hand.
"I know what you mean," said the little old man.

Look around.
(I am.)
You may know someone that would love to receive a note,
a kind word, a helping hand, a phone call,
an invitation to lunch, supper or even coffee.
It doesn't take much.
Someone needs YOU!

But exhort one another daily, while it is called today;
lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

Best Ever Homemade Powdered Laundry Detergent

4 lb. box of Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda
4 lb. box of Baking Soda
4 lb. box of Borax
1.3 lb. container of Oxy Clean
3 Bars of Fels-Napha Soap
(You can also use Ivory, Zote, or Castile but
FN is my favorite! I use Ivory when
I don't want a scent!)
Mix everything together in large container.
 Grate the soap.
I am looking for a cheap used food processor because....well, just because!
Smile!
 Mix all together.
 I just stir and stir.

Then I start dipping in to my huge jars!

This recipe fills 2 - 2 gallon jars.
And then I always fill some
quart jars and give them
for gifts!
It smells so good and washes your clothes so good
and besides all that it saves you lots of money!
It only takes 3 tablespoons for a large load!
Hope you make it!
So far it is my favorite powdered
recipe!
