Our Baby Girl

Mandy Jane was born in 1982!
She was our last baby!
What an absolute joy she has been!

We already had 3 babies when she came along!
The day I went in to labor, we went to the doctor and
they sent us home to wait a little longer!
The only thing was, we had a farm about an hour away from the hospital!
So Sweet Hunter dropped me off at my Mom's house so he could run and feed our cows!
It being our fourth baby I was so worried he would not get back in time.
The weather was bad. It was icy and it was snowing!
Bless his heart.
He hurried.  By the time he came and picked me up
in our little Toyota Station wagon,
I was sitting on ready!
And I do mean ready!
Once we got to the hospital Mandy Jane was born in 2 hours!
When Mandy was a teenager,
she always thought we were old!
I wonder what she thinks now!
(SMILE)
We have a lot of stories we could share about our baby!
For example:
*The time she got in her brothers tackle box and
got a fish hook in her mouth!
*We always tell her she can
thank her sister for her being here!
*Mandy Jane hates her baby pictures.
She says I used a bowl to cut her hair!

We always kid her saying that the cows had to be fed before she could be born.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANDY JANE!
We love you,
Mom & Dad

A Beautiful Day

I spent most of  the day with my Mom!!!
Sweet Hunter had to go back to work so it was our day!

Whenever we can we get together and sew.
It's hard for me to do it in the Summer because of the garden,
but winter is my rest time.

My Mom is a great seamstress and quilter!
But today we had lunch and went to Hobby Lobby to
spend my gift card that she gave me for Christmas!
I mean.....really......what gift could be any better than that!

This is an apron we started last time we got together.
I thought we would work on that but I had bought fabric to
make me some Pajama pants so we cut those out.
Now I'm in the sewing mood!

Mom & I are best friends!
When we get together.....just the two of us,
we just have a ball!
I hope to have more days like this soon!
Thank you Mom!

And this is what was waiting on me when I got home!!!
To say they were excited to see me is an understatement.
(smile)

I try to only leave the farm one day a week because
there is always so much work to do
when I get back and today was no different.
I got home around
3 this afternoon and worked until dark.
Today I added more hay to the coops and the runs.
We've had so much rain everything was sopping wet!

Lily is learning to ride in the Gator with me.
Even though she is a big dog, she's not even 10 weeks yet.
When I let her out all my chicken family decided it was
their turn to ride!!

The guineas were so happy to see me they flew up on the chicken coop
and sang me the most beautiful song!!!!
It went something like this.....
"Oh where oh where have you been,
We've missed you so!!!
Now give us our corn!!!!!"

The chickens were so happy to see me!
They love the cabbage leaves I give them!
This is "Rooster" & his gals!!!
It's so funny.
When there is something to eat he calls his girls over
and makes sure they eat before he does!
************************
Well, today was a beautiful day but
tomorrow I have to get all the coops
prepared for the cold weather coming
this weekend!
A farmers work is never done!

Our Hearts....Our Grands!

This is "Huddy!"
He is 2 years old!
He's our youngest grandbaby!
He has a personality that you wouldn't believe.
He can carry on a conversation just like we do.
According to all the doctors, Huddy would not be normal
when he was born.
They really stressed our daughter & Son In Love out
during the whole pregnancy.
If you followed my blog for a while you will remember I asked
you to pray for him before he was born
Thank you for your prayers.
As you can see......He is perfect!!!!
He's more than perfect!!!
This is "Brudder!!
Y'all knew him when he was just a baby back
when I blogged more.
"Brudder" is in Pre K and he is 5 years old!
I love this picture of him.
He wanted some of my biscuits and jelly so
when I brought them to him he was a happy boy!
He plays baseball & basketball.
He is really growing but when he was small,
the doctors would tell our daughter that he was -10 percent on
their growth chart.
He was so little he didn't even make the chart.
But look at him now!!!!
We call him our Chunky Monkey!
This is "Little D!"
He was always on my blog too!
He is 8 years old.
He is in the 2nd grade.
He plays travel baseball & basketball.
He loves school.
He loves his family and friend deeply.
"Little D" hates change.
We went to Gatlinburg not to long ago and he
cried all the way there because
he didn't want to leave home and he
cried all the way home because
he didn't want to leave Gatlinburg.
(smile)
In this picture he was in the hospital.
Just a few weeks ago his appendix ruptured.
The doctors told us how blessed he was
that they got him there in time.
He is doing great now thanks to many prayers.
This is "Brother!"
If you followed my blog in the past
you will remember him too.
He is 13 years old!
Yep a teenager!!!
"Brother" is in the 8th grade.
He loves to play baseball and is an awesome fast pitch pitcher.
He loves to help me do anything I am
doing from cleaning chicken coops to
cooking. It doesn't matter.
When he was 12 days old he developed Spinal Meningitis.
It scared us all to death. He was so little and so helpless.
He was in the hospital for a week.
But what a young man he has become.
We are so proud of  him!
This is our "Sweet Angel!"
Remember her?
She is 16 years old now and driving!
She's in the 11th grade!
She loves her family.
She is very very outgoing, loving, and happy!
Right now though she is sick.
A few years ago she got food poisoning and had to be hospitalized.
She has never got over that.
She has flair ups. Doctors can't figure it out.
Right now she is having a flair up.
Please remember her when you pray.
I have always told her she is my right hand!
She helps me with anything I need.
I know you remember our "Sweet Teen!"
Except she is not a teen anymore!
This girl is just amazing.
She is 21 years old now.
She started learning to make quilts when she was 12.
She has made several when she was very young.
She refinishes furniture and it is gorgeous.
When she was in High School she participated in a Dual-enrollment program that
enabled her to go to college at the same time she attended High School.
She finished her 2 year degree during that time.
Now she is currently working on her Masters degree.
When she was 3 years old she could quote Philippians 4:13 by heart.
On her graduation hat she painted that verse on her hat.
She has lived by that verse.
"I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me!"
Sweet Teen is an overcomer!!!
*****************************************************************
So now you are up to date on our Grandchildren.
As you can see we have 6 grands and they range in age
from 2 to 21 years old.
Proud does not even describe how we feel about them.
I say this all the time but its so true.

Just The Two Of Us!

My very favorite Christmas when I was a little girl was one where
we got up and Christmas morning &
we were actually disappointed
because there wasn't lots of toys around the tree.

There was a piece of paper telling me and my sisters
to follow the string.  It led us to a mini bike!!!!
Oh we were so excited!
We weren't disappointed after we saw that!
So that is what I did this Christmas for Sweet Hunter!
The crazy thing was I had his gift hid in the woods.
I was sure he wouldn't find it.
We have 50 acres!!!
But all week he had been singing
"Row Row Row your boat?"
So here we go looking for it in the woods on Christmas Morning!'
And sure enough  he goes right where it was in the woods.
Every Christmas he guesses his big gift.
But when we got there, it wasn't there.
I acted like I didn't know anything about where he was.
Little did he know, but I had moved it a couple of days before.
I had a pretty good hint that he knew because of him
singing that song and smiling really big!
So I wanted to get one on him!
(smile)

So I pointed in the right direction and he went to a creek bed
and there it was.
The good thing was it was wrapped in heavy plastic so
although he had found it,
he didn't know what it looked like.

As we got closer we were laughing so hard!
We have so much fun together!

The guineas were singing so loudly because they
knew something was different.

I thought this was the cutest picture!
Keep in mind we couldn't play with it yet
because Christmas day fell on a Sunday
and we had to go get ready for Church.

On Christmas Day it is our tradition to go see all the Grands &
see what Santa brought them.
So after Church we headed to their houses but Sweet Hunter
was so anxious to get back home to play with his toy!
He was a pro on it!!!
He loves it!
And he got me a new computer!!!
That's how I am blogging again!
And he got me this beautiful coat!
And this jacket!!!
Don't y'all love seeing us in our pajamas!?
And me with messy hair and no make up??
Well, we are real!
I don't worry about all that stuff because one
day all that will be left is pictures.
And these cute camo boots to where when I go out to feed the chickens!
I LOVE them!
And in his stocking was an extra surprise.
Years ago while hunting Sweet Hunter lost his
wedding band.
He loved that ring.
Although this one is not as nice as his other one,
it is a platinum ring that he loves!
************************
There were many, many Christmas's that we couldn't afford to get each other gifts because
we had 4 children and they came before us.
Now is our time!
We have a ball together.
Just the 2 of us!
We work hard and play hard!
Merry Christmas!
